My son plays for a small college in Georgia. They already have very small crowds. I was surprised this is the case in the larger schools.

I love March Madness, but the truth is that the Conference Tournaments just don't draw much.. and when you get to the early rounds of the "Big Dance" its the same way...For the most part the teams are moved to different parts of the country, and they just don't draw the "local" fans...but when it gets down to the "sweet 16" then you start to see the crowds, the big fans will travel and it gets better...

The University of Kentucky Wildcats seem to be drawing great crowds as usual. Basketball has a strong legacy in Kentucky. Football, not so much. Here's an article on attendance...

The University of Louisville Cardinals draw huge crowds as well. Rick Pitino is the best basketball coach I have seen. He won a lot of games while coaching UK on the strength of his will alone. Great coaches find a way to win even with mediocre talent. Can you imagine winning with the likes of Richie Farmer, John Pelphrey, Deron Feldhaus and an assortment of walk-ons?
