Captain John Smith "He who shall not work, shall not eat."

The only information you hbave about Jesus in in that book.

Incidently, Jesus appears several times in the Old Testament. You maligh him as a socialist douche because you have formed your whole oppinion of his personality from the Sermon on the mount.

Your Jesus is not Jesus at all, just another IDOL.

Which I guess is my point. If you really KNEW christ it wouldn't be a surprise to learn he appears in the OT several times.

Anyway Jim ur last post made my point beautifully, you don't wanna get hung up on the 'book', you just want to believe whatever it is that makes you feel good.

"Those who don't work, don't eat" doesn't make you feel good so you reject it and replace it with a false notion of neighbor loving, at least on paper.

This socialised wealfare crap didn't start in the US until this last century, and it coincided strangley enough with the death of the church and the utter destruction of personal morals. What is so disgusting is the twisting of CHrists teaching to justify it all.

The end must be near because we are in a time when evil is called good.

So in the famous words of Brooke Shields, "check yourself...before you wreck yourself"

Wow....this has to be the first time I have seen Jesus called a socialist douche in a religious debate.
While not being wholly religious in nature myself, I find this post offensive altogether.
I think the op here should exercise his supposed devoutness with a bit of restraint and far less narrow minded schlock.

Pan,

The bible doesn't give an age to the earth. As for the creation story in Genesis, its actually a song, not meant to be taken literally. (But many do)

Its debatable as whether dinosuars are mentioned, but kiwi fruit aren't so I'm not sure what your point is there. I think you aren't sure what a nonsequiter is. You happen to be full of them so you ought to look it up.

As for the flood story, Al Gore your hero keeps telling us climate change is gonna sink the contin.ents. So though it seems implausable your hero runs around selling it today.

So were back to where we strted, your ignorant and what very little you do know you form non-valid conclussions with.

Oh and BTW India sucks, that's why indians come here to drive trucks but americans don't go to india to be beggars.

Namoste ;-p

The intention of this thread was concern about a diminishing work ethic in our country and how best to dismantle the growing welfare state.

Well if your FACTS actually meant anything I would respect your opinion.

But saying, Jesus was dead before the gospels were written isn't exactly earth shattering. So duh.

The rest of the stuff you said is not shocking at all to anybody who has studdied any history, let alone ancient history.

Especially the age of the earth non sense, that was debated in the as early as Augustine, he was an old earther BTW. So as I said before your ignorant.

In the last 5 years I've read over 300 books, mostly history. You haven't, so I may be impolite, but you're definately ignorrant.

Aristotle,

Its hopeless, the Protestant work ethic that built the US is gone. None of my rant have been directed at either the truth or fiction of biblical teachings but on what those teachings are.

You can see how your eyes get stabbed by people who would seemingly be on "work hard...Stay off welfare" ethic which is biblical.

The problem we face is as I said before, the constitution was a document written by christians to establish a governemnt for christians, and it worked pretty good untill around ww1.

Now the fake christians (goats) have taken over the gvernemnt, and churchs as run around telling evertybody jesus was a socialist, that's the cruelist trick of all.

Yes my typical 300 books a year, college education and lack of deplorable spelling and grammar errors make me very ignorant.
I think you have it backwards I'm impolite you're ignorant....
Of course I don't read a book of fiction like say the bible and believe in it as the only truth. So to you anything I say will be thrown out but that's okay by me...I've been called worse by people who actually have knowledge and whose opinion I hold in high regard. Enjoy your narrow minded world I'm off to enjoy NOLA!

At a basic subsistence level, many low-income Americans have decided welfare is more appealing than work. Our government has made welfare too easy and too attractive. It, the welfare state, cannot be sustained.

This was intentional. They wanted a dependent society. Dependent people are easily controlled. That is their goal. It will continue until the people FINALLY figure it out on their own. By then it will be too late. The trap will already been sprung. Those who try to oppose this, "New America" will be dealt with any means needed to insure compliance.

ARI,

The good news is it won't be sustained very long. The Federal Government is going to cease to exhist.

It will probly break up peacefully this time as there is no overacrhing moral delima like 'slavery' to inspire the citizens of the Fed to attack the break away states.

I think we'll see the break up in the next 20 years, maybe sooner. But something is going to happen. Because the irrefutable law of economics is there is no such thing as a free lunch.

SSI and MediCare take up more than half of federal spending as of today medicare is growing so fast in 10 years it alone will be 60% of fed spending. So that ain't gonna happen. The dollar will crash or the benies will end.

We might see changes but the fed will exist longer than any of us.

Nope. When checks from Washington no longer buy anything, the states are going to tell Uncle Sam to buzz off. They'll stop forwarding tax monies to Washington and Congress won't be able to afford to exist. The states created the feds, they can un-create them, too.
Just as no one takes orders from a lifer, no one takes orders from a completely broke Uncle Sam.
