Wantabet 90% of those jobs were transfers for people laid off at other plants or those called back to work at that plant that have been laid off there...not new jobs, just bring those back to work that were laid off....And then go back and look at employment at that plant back in the day...wantabet it aint even close to their peak employment!?!? And then look at the wages that they gave them to come back...wanta bet they arent close to what they were when those that were laid off were given those layoff notices!?!?

And then you have the "barry helping his union buddies" with more handouts just in time for the election....

LOL, you see GM's units sold in June were the highest they have been in yrs!?!? Yeap, barry and and the fed gov bought more GM vehicles in June that at anytime....LOL....can you say artifacally inflated

All politics....LOL, but i will give you the impact on the "local" economy is good, but it will be short lived, watch after the election....all about politics.....:D

Oh, and when they get laid off again, that just resets their ability to collect another 99 weeks of unemployment....so yea while they work, its all good..but as i said, wantabet on how long it last!?!? :D

hey..it is the auto industry.....flaky at best....LOL

Once Obama is reelected it will all hit the fan. He is the man with the evil plan. What is wrong with this? Let's see, stealing private property and giving it to the UAW. Not paying back the money to the taxpayers that they took it from so they could redistribute it. Continued subsidies for cars that lose money. ETC ETC ETC.

I've never been impressed by the US auto industry, with it's myopic leadership & misguided priorities, but for the people who will be returning to productive employment, it is very welcome news. Even cargo vans will benefit - how sweet is that?
Whatever the reason, for however long it lasts, it sure beats moving in the opposite direction.

Only the leadership has misguided priorities and is myopic? What about the UAW? They are 100% just as bad. It was a equal, joint effort that has brought about what we have today. To only blame "leadership" is myopic!

Myopic leadership and misguided priorities in the auto industry. Are we talking about Barry?

Things are popping in Belvidere Ill.....

Obama Can Eat Steak in Belvidere as Chrysler Brings Jobs - Bloomberg

a nearby restaurant alone hired 15 new people to handle business...:)

been told I have my head buried in my butt......
I am sure happy for about 6,000 Americans or more that now have a paycheck....is that so wrong...????

It's not wrong at all for 6,000 or more Americans to have paychecks. It's about the means to as how the bailout was done and the cost to the taxpayers (35 billion) that they will never recoup.

Not to mention that much of the company was sold to Fiat. Not to mention that they took that 35 billion from us, borrowed it from China to more precise, and that the vast majority of us who are going to have to repay that loan will never benefit from it. Gotta love the Marxists!

Doesn't matter it's a done deal ya have to move on....old news...

Not a done deal, it has NOT been paid for. The really bad effects of this mess have yet to have taken place. Move on? How? By ignoring the evil that is taking place? I can't wait to hear someone talking about how Obama is making the trains run on time. Only those who never studied, or flunked history, could be happy with what is taking place in this country now.

I understand. What happened with the auto company bailouts was pure, redistribution of wealth. They bought (TOOK) assets from the legal owners, and gave them to the UAW. They used borrowed money, borrowed from one of the most murderous communist countries in history, China, and put the American taxpayer on the hook for the bill. They CLAIMED it was a 'loan' to 'help out' the company. It is evil.

The right to own private property is on of the most IMPORTANT rights that free men can have. One SHOULD be entitled to the fruits of one's labor. Laziness should NEVER be rewarded and success should never be punished.

People had better wake up. It was the auto companies this time. What is next? Your home? Private property rights, as with all rights, are being threatened by this government.
