Barack Hussein Obama: another failed presidency

In the first real crisis of his term in office, the dramatic oil spill along the US Gulf coast, President Obama will be on vacation this weekend. Last night, while citizens of Louisiana were screaming for help, Obama thought going to a Democratic fundraiser in San Francisco was a better use of his time and energy. Obama assured the SanFran crowd he is very, very concerned with repealing DADT. That's where his mind is. Not on the ecological disaster in a conservative Southern state like Louisiana.

Obama reads a teleprompter well. Is that any way to discern leadership potential ? Next time around, let's choose a leader, not a reader.

Good Lord, what do you want him to do, go down there and don a HAZMAT suit and scrape tar balls off herons?

I don't like him either, but sheesh.

Of course you like him. *L* The idea of Obama in a HazMat suit works for me. Seriously, he can't run and hide any longer from this incident in our Gulf states. If BP's "top-kill" attempt doesn't work today, things may get really ugly in political circles. Obama has kept himself at some distance because he doesn't want to be associated with this fiasco. Being in a leadership position isn't going to be all tea and crumpets for Obama. At critical moments, he is expected to act decisively, which he hasn't.

For starters, Obama could authorize the Corps of Engineers to waive the permitting process allowing Gov. Bobby Jindal to spearhead a dredging effort to protect the marshes and coastal areas. The local folks have experience at doing this very thing. Rather than following a reactionary model (actually inaction) it's past time to get proactive.

This is one of the problems with electing someone who has never held an executive position. If we had a widespread emergency of national scope, it would be unnerving to watch Obama try to lead. He does not inspire confidence.

The very idea that the Corps of Engineers is delaying Jindal's efforts to dredge up protective sand barriers because they have to study the project's effects on the environment is absolutely laughable. Now we're witnessing the effects of electing the most inexperienced and unqualified presidential candidate in the nation's history.

Fact of the matter is, if a Republican were president right now the MSM would be ripping him to shreds.

First of, this is HARDLY the first crisis of his term. He has ignored the rest. This is the EASIEST of all the problems to fix which is why he is spouting off on it. I am by no means trying to make light of what is going on out there, it is bad. It is NOT the biggest problems he faces.

The Gulf WILL recover once the oil is stopped. It will be stopped. The Gulf will recover on it's own, rather quickly, even if we do nothing. It MIGHT recover faster if we help it. The jury is out on that. There is evidence that our clean up efforts cause as many problems as they fix. Does anyone know just how long the Gulf was messed up after that much bigger spill in 1979 off the coast of Mexico? That might give us an idea on who the Gulf handles these things. Too bad we can't stop all the NATURAL oil leaks out there too.

He should be working on North Korea and their planning of an EMP attack on this country. I mean, after all, he is the CIC. He should start acting like it.
