Here is some food for thought:

Guns and ammo have been flying off the shelves since Obama won the election in November.....Hmmm....

Do you suppose the gun manufacturers, gun shop owners or anyone who sells guns and ammo are capitalists? Do you think they believe in supply and demand? Do you think they know that most gun owners are passionate, to say the least, about their right to own guns and ammo, and their fears of losing that right?
Wouldn't it be brilliant if the gun manufacturers went in cahoots with some rogue liberal congressmen and proposed some scary "I'm gonna get your gun" bill to instill the fear in gun owners to cause a run on these guns and ammo? It isn't really very far fetched compared to some of the scenarios you people come up with...
If you want some fuel for a conspiracy theory, there it is.

It is a very plausible theroy, except for one glaring fact. Liberals can't think like that!!! The idea that anyone would make money and get ahead is forgien to thier thinking!! Then to be able to make that leap well, that is really going to far. Look at it this way, Colt manufacturing is in CT. They have stopped making all civilian models. Not because there is not profit but because they are worried about the political climate. They are also looking at moving out of CT. They have been there for a VERY long time. They don't like the State politcs, and the national level polititions for CT are all anti-gun. It has to be something else. Layoutshooter

Oh, but I disagree my friend...speaking of Connecticut, One need look no farther than Mr Chris Dodd, the Senator in AIG's pocket, a prime candidate for this type of scheme.

I had not heard that Greg. I do know that they are looking to move, maybe to TN was one rumor I heard. There are really a couple of reasons, all related to liberal politics. The unions are killing them. Example: We had a 9AM pick up there the other day. We could not get loaded until after 11am. I asked why, I was told that they go on break a 9 and that they start to go on the break at 9 around 8:30 and end that 20 minute break around 9:30 to 9:45 then it took them about another 15 minutes to get roling again. Couple that with the total anti-gun politics in the state and they are looking to leave. Just think of the job loss in that area, of course, who ever get's that plant would gain a lot of jobs. MMM move the to S.D and let Layoutshooter work in product development!! Layoutshooter

Even most Gun Shop Owners were not aware of this new bill because it is flying in Under the Radar. Google it if you want to, but it's just one more step closer for Obama's Dream of Disarming Law Abiding "American" Citizens. Thanx again Obama Supporters!!!!

Hmm..they didn't know about this bill, huh? How convenient.
Sounds a little fishy to me. We aren't even in the gun business and we know about it. But then gun dealers never lie, do they?
Just bolsters my theory.

The Bill was introduced in JAN. of this yr. Most everyone has talked about it and its sponsor the ex Black Panther Bobby Rush. This is the 3rd time it has been on this forum. I'd be very hard pressed to hear of a gun manufacturer or gun shop that hasn't heard of it. /and this is actually the 2nd time Rush has brought it to the table, he did it in 2008 also, just under another name.

It wasn't that they backed down it was that the CEO Stewart said that he favored some sort of permit system with required training and testing which p*ssed a lot of people off.
