How to start with no experience?

My first company after I got out of school was Covenant. My suggestion is go 18 wheeler with a large company first. England,Covenant, Schneider. Don't go with Us Express they only have automatics, and in my opinion you would just limit yourself in what type of equipment you could drive. all...

    question for van drivers

I read it on one of the back posts here on EO. I don't know if I want to go with panther,so I am asking as a industry average. The post I read was from last year.I am looking for a more recent average. What should I expect in reality, not pumped up recruiter talk.

    question for van drivers

I got it from Panther. Patrica Wells sent me an o/o pamphlet. In it it says vans are 1.10 plus FSC. Any way, what should I expect for CPM in a van on average? Does .87 sound right? P.S I got the pamphlet 2 months ago.

no I got the o/o info and vans are now contracted a 1.10. I know last year s/t were at 1.35,but now there down to 1.25.Guess they changed it. But still .87 seems low. Am I wrong?

I think you pass. My husband and I are in a s/t right now and want to start our own business. I can buy a van out right or have payments on a s/t. Trying to run the numbers but for a solo in the van and team in the s/t.I don't think I could handle teaming in a van.I love him but not that much!

    Udate on stupid mistake.

Is there such a thing as A good fleet owner? I mean doesn't everyone have flaws? Granted I have only worked for 1 fleet owner and in some aspects hes good and others hes not so good. My pay is always correct, no money has to come out of pocket for repairs, and there real nice. But when it comes to...

    ATTENTION O/O driver warning

My question is why did you give him a 400$ fuel advance? I mean doesn't the driver get an advance on his fuel card when he gets a load? And why 400$ It cant be that much to fill his tank. As for the bad driver, well theres also bad fleet owners, it goes both ways.

whats better, percentag or millage pay?

exactly what I was thinking! so I want to know, can a driver average 1.25 loaded miles on % and if so what company?

whats better, percentag or millage pay?

you are correct. 1.15 no lift gate 1.25 with one 1.35 for reefer 1.50 tval. I am with an owner op now his rate is 1.35 with no liftgate. so I have to buy more truck for less pay. I did the math and i'm not comfortable with the profit margin at 1.15. so if I dont get the liftgate i cant work for...
