Need help deciding on Medium Duty Moving Van?

You're going to want a thorough pre-purchase inspection. Granted, trucks do a great job of breaking at really inconvenient times, so you'll always have to be prepared for a financial hit. It's inevitable.

So you're looking to buy a truck...

I'd take it to a dealer, for one. I'd ask for a printout of everything saved in the ECU. Then if there are tests they can do on injectors/turbo/whatever, you can ask for those results. I work on Hinos. I can go into the various ECUs and compile a big report showing all of the ECU...

So you're looking to buy a truck...

Wouldn't it make sense to take the truck to someone who is intimately familiar with that brand and model? I'm a mechanic. A customer showed up with a 2 year old truck that he'd just bought, and wanted us to check it out before it hit the road. I wish so much that he'd brought it to us...

Newbie Question (Searched forums thoroughly) Purchasing a Freightliner M2. Need help.

Newbie Question (Searched forums thoroughly) Purchasing a Freightliner M2. Need help.

There's a Freightliner M2 languishing in my yard. 350k miles, Cat C7. The engine needs to be removed and sleeved because a broken ring shredded the parent-bore block. Here's another M2 that showed up at work. Cat C7. I'm not a fan of the Cat C7.

You can tell that I don't drive for a living, lol.

    Loyalty or stupidity?

You should have left the truck out there and taken a bus home. They love when drivers do that.

    Hino Drivers or O/O

I'm a Hino mechanic, and I have some input. 1. If they're taken care of, they'll go a million. Most of the ones that I work on are from small fleets and they're rotated out of service before the mileage gets astronomical. We have seen some ratty, disgusting trucks with close to a million on...
