Make that Layover time pay off!

Here is this cover that I designed for my first and recently released novel. I really liked the idea of the driver and his rig in silhouette form, as it depicts the main character's transition within the storyline!

    Free Kindle Book

Darn, I wish I had seen this sooner so I could get the free download. Gonna have to buy it and support a fellow author! Sounds like a great read.

Make that Layover time pay off!

Amazon does have a good program for self publishers. I plan to utilize their Audible division for the audio version of Fallen Angel Of The Highway in the next year or two. Since I was looking for a much larger marketing spread, plus planning to go after the bookstore market in conjunction...

The States Where Residents Can't Wait to Move Away

Florida Statute 61.08 Alimony [Partial quote] In a proceeding for dissolution of marriage, the court may grant alimony to either party, which the alimony may be permanent in nature.... The court may consider the adultery of either spouse and the circumstances therefore in determining the amount...

The States Where Residents Can't Wait to Move Away

Florida should be #1 on any married man's list!!! Just move to Florida if you really want to screw your life up, and if you already live there "Get the hell out while you can!" before the divorce court gets you. I can rightfully say Florida is a communist state, having been born, raised, and...

Make that Layover time pay off!

When you're laid over somewhere for whatever reason (other than under a dispatch), lets face it, you aren't making any money unless you find another way to do so. I did! For many years I was the storyteller around the campfire, captivating the listener's ear as I wove my stories. Don't ask me...

    Transitions

I'd rather be sitting in the comfort of my RV behind my computer smelling my own sweaty fingers as they feverishly type out my stories, rather the stuck in a building full of stinky people working up a sweat on an exercise machine! LOL Oh and the sight of man cleavage cause their pants are...

    Transitions

With the changes that have occurred in the trucking industry over the past years, being the changes in regulations, CSA2010, and all of the rest of the garbage, one sometimes reevaluates the direction in life they are currently traveling. Some choose to and are lucky enough to change that...

    That's it, I can't do this anymore!!!

Our other trailer was a 2006 all steel Transcraft with Apitong decking. It was depreciated out for taxes. Needed a new tax write off plus wanted a newer combo (steel/aluminum) trailer. Buying this trailer covered all the bases for our needs.Although its a 2008 Reinke, the original owners had...

    That's it, I can't do this anymore!!!

After the initial cost of the trailer, many don't want to spend the 22K-25K for the tarp system.

Thanks Zorry! Full of fuel (300 gal) water (50 gal) all of our gear and personal belongings we scale out at 40K plus with no payload. Our average loaded and empty is 6.5-7.0mpg even though we are hauling the equivalent of a box trailer when it comes to wind resistance. Our loads are never over 38K.

Naw, the glitter still has it's luster. Now I can drive onto the tarmac and really turn some heads and not have to work my arse off in the process! I'm amazed at how many people we load and unload at have never actually seen one of these systems work. We are only one of four units like this in...

    How inconsiderate some people are.

Now I like that solution. Oh, and don't forget to video tape the whole incident with your camera phone so you and friends can get repeated laughs later on!!!

Fortunately, we didn't (don't) have to deal with ramps, chains, straps and binders yes. No where near the loads and hours you dealt with. Body was holding up real well with no issues. Shoulder was ripped up in accident.

I liked the exercise cause it helped keep the weight down and the beer belly wasn't as big (room for more beer!). As far as limited load opportunities: 1. Can't do oversized loads THANK GOD!!! 2. Cant hang a hodge podge load over the front and rear of trailer. Look, here comes tobacco road...

So change it did. I bought the better half and I a new (well new to us) specialized stepdeck trailer. A 2008 Reinke with a Roll Tite automatic tarping system. NO MORE TARPING, NO MORE TARPING! We just arrive at the shipper/receiver, roll up the rear flap, release the side A-frames from the...

    That's it, I can't do this anymore!!!

Almost four and a half years of tarping jet engines and landing gear in the sweltering desert heat, pouring down rain, snow, ice, sleet, and freezing temps. Constant popping and pain in my shoulder from an auto accident a year ago cause some negligent driver ignored the red light and plowed into...
