Why Women Are Crabby (from a woman's point of vie

A woman friend emailed me this ..thought I would pass it on.... We started to "bud" in our blouses at 9 or 10 only to find that anything that came in contact with those tender, blooming buds hurt so bad it brought us to tears. So came the ridiculously uncomfortable training bra contraption that...

six inches short of being dock high

I saw this post in the truck talk forum and I kind of like that saying. In stead of saying someone's not playing with a full deck...or only has one oar in the water...maybe we could use it when we describe someone... kind of a trucker's inside joke...of course maybe I'm just "six inches short of...

    Gear Ratios

In looking at different trucks I'm in a quandary as to what would be a more benefitial gear ratio. ON the class 8 larger company trucks that seem to pull some prety heavy stuff their ratios generally tend to be the 3:70...with a cruising speed somewhere between 65 and 70 MPH. Now if one were...

    Road to Destruction

an Email that was passed on to me. Subject: Road to Destruction by Gov. Lamm (Democrat) ##### Lamm was the former Governor of Colorado. In that context his thoughts are particularly poignant. Last week there was an immigration-overpopulation conference in Washington, DC, filled to capacity...

    Atleast One German Gets It!!

Mathias Dapfner, Chief Executive of the huge German publisher Axel Springer Ag, has written a blistering attack in DIE WELT, Germany's largest daily newspaper, against the timid reaction of Europe in the face of the Islamic threat. (This is it in its entirety) EUROPE- THY NAME IS COWARDICE...

    c 10 cat

I saw an ad with this motor (335 HP) in a stretched Century with the eaton fuller 10 spd auto shift approx. 244,ooo miles. How does this motor hold up. My concern being it isn't one of the 12 liter motors so I'm thinking it might be more business class. Also would the Eaton fuller still be a...

If the shoe was on the other foot

I was just trying to imagine what this election would look like if the media, etc. were all for Bush and had put Johnny Kerry under the microscope and waged campaigns of finding out the absolute truth about Johnny how he would fair. My guess is this election would have been wrapped up months ago...

    What would you drive.

If you were strictly a solo driver and you had your pick of driving any class & or type of expediting truck with the idea of generating the most profit (let's exclude TT) what would you drive and why?

What typically would be considered a "C" unit.

I'm trying to get some specs for what might constitute a C Unit. What typically would the weight requirement be...is it around 6000lb load capacity? and how much of a box would be considered enough. and how crucial is it that the inside width be 96 inches? Thanks in advance.

    C unit with a 16 foot box

Thx box is not 96 inches wide. The gross vehicle weight is 19000lbs. I'm not absolutely sure yet but I believe the truck empty weight should be a little under 13000lbs. Is this totally out of line? I will be driving solo but I think the operating cost of a D unit or for that matter a true C unit...

    C units

Ok here comes another question. I'm trying to put together a cross between a B & a C I think. Found an E 550 gvw 19000 lbs. I can get 16 feet of cargo with a little over 4 feet for the sleeper. Problem is that the inside dimension of the box will be 90 inches not 96 inches. Do you see this as a...

I live on a the top floor of a condo in Chicago. With a flat roof it gets awfully hot in the summer. I have a thru the wall airconditioner for the main living and a portable (on wheels) one for my bedroom. It does a great job of keeping it cool and is easily vented out a window a run a small...

    Placement of E tracs

I'm trying to figure out the best possible postions for e tracs. Thinking of putting 3 on side walls. 1st at floor level 2nd about 2 feet above and the 3rd about 2 feet above that. Does that sound adequate? I would also run a row on the floor...how wide apart should they be? Unfortunately the...

    Remote Qualcom

I have read that there is a remote for the truck qualcom so if you're away you can still get the message. Does anyone know if you can buy one? If so how much and where? Thanks in advance. PS This is the best site for Expediters and the Expo was great! Thank You EO and all contributors.

    Race Car Hauler Conversion

A friend of mine told me about a guy selling a race car hauler. #4 feet renegade conversion. 12 feet living quarters and 22 feet garage. Would it be feasible to convert it over for expediting?

    Unicell and expediter trucks

I noticed a post from Lawrence that Unicell no longer wants to configure for expediter trucks. I've been researching and thought that the 177 inch E450 cutaway with 6.0 diesel and the 17 foot aerocell would be a good combo. I was going to use the front part for a sleeper and put the bulkhead...
