Does the previous owner have any oil analysis records? You also may want to have the truck put on a chasis dyno to see where the performance is today. Maybe you could buy a warranty package to protect you...just a thought.

You are correct thinking that is the wrong gear setup. If you can put tall rubber i.e. 11R22.5 instead of low pro you will pickup 3 or 4 miles per hour at same RPM. It sounds like this was a local delivery truck.

Fuel prices on I-10 at exit 225 the Texaco/Arby Fuel Stop price is $2.599.... go figure? Use your CB for checking fuel prices. The wise shopper will make good cent$.

KVH and Trac Star both offer internet satelite units for your truck. Price is a bit heavy at roughly 6 to 7000 dollars plus monthly service charge. Good luck.
