    straight trucks without sleeper

I spoke to the body shop at Freightliner and they gave me a rough end quote of <10,000. He said it would not be cost effective for the year of my trucks and it would not increase the value very much (it would however increase the value for me). Back to square one, Ive got two trucks, maybe I...

Thanks. Are you saying the sleeper would be connected to the box?

    straight trucks without sleeper

Is it possible to convert straight trucks without sleepers to DOT approved sleepers, without going broke. It is difficult to find expediters in my area (Florida). Are these trucks tractors with a 24' box?

Fleet owners that lease their trucks on with companies

I am thinking about buying a truck that I can lease out to a company and use the company's authority. I am going to buy a straight truck, not really sure what size it will be. I just know it needs to have a DOT approved sleeper and be a newer model truck. My question is what are the pro's and...

    Hot shot trucks and loads

Sorry. I am applying for a carrier position with a company, there is no option for straight trucks. You have 48' van, 53' van, flat bed, step down, hot shot vans, hot shot flats. Those are the options. Not sure if my straight truck fits into the category of hot shot vans.

    Hot shot trucks and loads

The thing that has me confused is, what did they mean by "Hot shot Vans". I was thinking alon the lines of expediting trucks. When I googled it, anything from straight trucks to semi's came up. They are listed as expedite trucks. I don't want to put the wrong classification down for my...

    Hot shot trucks and loads

The description is for open trailer smaller trucks, but what if your choses are (hot shot flats) and (hot shot vans). It would appear to me that my straight trucks would fall under hot shot vans.

    Jumping Load boards

Cute. I don't have a problem paying for the load boards, and I have. The problem I have is paying and they don't have loads for my truck type. Most of the loads out of florida are refers, flat beds, 48' and 53'. I just want a load board that has loads for my truck.

    Jumping Load boards

Thank you. I only want to run local, so the plot gets thicker. I can't justify having an MC# and they are requesting it. On top of the fact that you have to pay to search the load boards to find out they have no loads for you.

    Jumping Load boards

Which load boards can you use to load 24 footers. Most of them want 48 to 53' trucks, or specialized: flat beds or refers. I have yet to find one that has loads for my trucks.

Does anyone know of any brokers out of Florida that find loads for straight trucks. Having trouble getting signed on with a company because of how old my trucks are. I need to move them. Since both of my trucks are dock high, I would like a broker that specializes in air freight. Any...

    New Expediter

Thanks, but 30K is a bit much for me right now. I am waiting on a move on a wing and a prayer. If nothing happens by the summer I will have no choice but to sell the trucks. Everything moving in the state are refers, or flat beds, probably due to the citrus and plants. I haven't given up...

coinsidentally, my husband does foreclosed properties and he uses his pick up truck and a trailer. I just spoke with an expedite company that said they will use any truck, I mentioned that I was in Florida and the trucks do not have sleepers. She said that is fine. So, I am going to check it out.

    New Expediter

That company seaboard's phone is disconnected. I applied with a company on craigslist to make furniture deliveries. He said you can make 2500 to 3300 per week. You get paid weekly, and it is seasonal work. I asked for his credentials and he became defensive. To work my guys 100 miles a day...

    New Expediter

I live 30 miles outside of Orlando. I haven't tried courier companies because I thought the biggest truck they would need is a van. That is a good idea. I am now trying to sign on as a contractor with the depots as suggested. Home depot, office depot, etc. There is not alot going on in this...

They are both dock high. They don't have sleepers, that I think is the major problem. Everyone I call says they need sleepers, some DOT rated.
