I must agree. Insurance companies determine what and who a company will hire. I would certainly not expect and expedited carrier to pick you up for several years. Then again, I may be surprised.

I've had brokers call and do that. If it's not a name I recognize immediately, I've figured out that it's just their "line." Usually, their credit sucks.

There is a bill in Florida where they are trying to raise the in-state weight used on non-interstate highways to 88,000. Already called Charlie Crist's office and asked him to veto it. It may help a few large shippers keep from calling a second truck, but what about the wear and tear on public...
Slow and steady is definitely what I would say as well. Rates are up from what they were last year (they were just horrendous then), but certainly not where I would like them, especially for the vans.
