I don't get it either. If someone wants thicker oil, why don't they just buy heavier oil? I've yet to have anyone tell me exactly what an oil additive does for them, other than it makes the oil thicker and they use less oil. I don't see why that makes an expensive additive worth while. So...

A carrier may give a better rate to be "first call" carrier. The carriers on down the list get a higher rate.
