Things that bug me I see other drivers doing dangerous !

Well, the fact is that the guy with the 66 mph truck that's trying to pass the 65 mph truck is an idiot. He should just stay behind the 65 mph truck. Does he really believe he'll get where he's going significantly sooner? I've been behind these morons with a long line of traffic behind them...

    Sandwich dare

I'm surprised the Food Police haven't shut Tony's down, crazy huge portions. I used to stop for an Italian sausage sandwich and a 1/2 order of fries when I was on a Walled lake to Rose City run. The 1/2 order of fries is a huge basket.

    Intro: new here

C'mon everyone, sing along! You know the words... "We are the world, we are the children..." (I'm sure Michael is up there in that big Neverland Ranch in the sky taping his nose on and getting ready to join in.)

Things that bug me I see other drivers doing dangerous !

LOL... I've been hearing that for 12 years. When I bought my van in '98 I was told that I made a big mistake as DOT regs would be applied any day. Any day now... LOL If I were you, I wouldn't be worried.

Considering the solidarity from both sides of the aisle, I'll guess I'll have to re-think. I haven't had such problems, keeping myself a bit distant from the, ahhh, passionate discussions that take place in the Box. It's just irritating when the outrageous yahoos show up spouting crapola...

    transporter Diet aug 15

Being up to 1200 with snacks he'll probably be O.K. drinking lots of water as well. The problem with these diets is that usually they aren't what people will be doing permanently. The goal is reached, the diet ends... A lot of folks gain it back, and more. I do admire the desire to go for it...

I see you edited since I was first going to respond. (Got a phone call) I wasn't sure what the definition of "in person" was. Yes, making someone show up in Florence is a bit much, but I'm hugely on board with actually knowing who people are. Folks that don't give their name and hometown in...

The Great Recession is Officially Over

I got something in the mail today that's proof positive that the recession's over. It was a card from Custom Critical declaring the recession over and saying that they need owner operators like me. That pretty much puts any doubt to rest, right?

    Motorcycle

As far as I know there's nothing special you have to do. I have a friend that carried one in his box and it was never an issue in terms of DOT. You may miss out on a load because a shipper doesn't want his freight in with something like that, but it would be rare. I once hauled a military item...

    Club Membership

During the time that OOIDA's "been there" for us, we've seen the decline of the trucking industry. Yeah, they've fought some individual fights and won. But as a whole, the industry has gone downhill since their inception. Having said that, yes, I'm a member because they're about all there is...

    Is a van a CMV

The states vary as to what trucks have to scale. Most are 10k and up. But, if a state posted that trucks 16k and up scale, then a 14k cube could go right on by. I think Iowa is such a state...
