    Truck Battery Question

So, would I be better off isolating 2 for starting and 2 for the fridge and inverter (TV, DVD, etc.)? Maybe use a marine type switch so I can use all four as starting if necessary. Would 2 be enough for a Mercedes MBE 4000.

    Truck Battery Question

Back to my original question: Will one bad battery draw the other three down? When the batteries were tested three showed over 900 CCA. They were 13.6 volts without a load and went down to @ 12.6 volts with a load. One tested at 650 CCA. It was at 12.6 volts and dropped to 10 volts with a load.

    Truck Battery Question

Good advice, but hard to find the 1010 CCA Interstates. Petro and T/A no longer carry them. My local shop had one on the rack when I went in there last week. I pulled out the known defective one and tried starting the truck on three after charging them with a 10 amp charger for 15 minutes and...

    Truck Battery Question

Our 2006 Columbia has 4-1010 CCA batteries that are 19 months old. I had them tested a few weeks ago and one was not as strong as the other three, but I was told it would be OK. Yesterday they were fully charged. This morning after the truck sat for 22 hours with just the fridge running it...

    Not exactly an electronic log...

The Garmin DEZL GPS has an HOS option that can be downloaded to a computer and printed. But it clearly states that it is not an approved substitute for paper logs. It also does IFTA logging for fuel taxes that can be downloaded and printed.

    To incorporate or not?

In Florida corporate officers can exempt themselves from Workers Compensation. Here's a link: Florida Division of Workers' Compensation - Employers But, even if you are exempt most carriers will require you to have Work Accident Insurance.

    Trump Explains Dumbo Care

No one can sum it up better than Trump Let me get this straight . . . We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for...

New NJ Ice law goes in effect.

We have never had ice build up on the box roof. I wonder if it is due to having a translucent roof?

    Tire wear ? W/photo

We were told we had a bent axle once also. Turned out it was a bent rim.

I was thinking that this could become a wintertime opportunity for the truck stop wheel polishers.

    Tire wear ? W/photo

We tried that. It seems that on the steers once it starts you can't stop it. We also tried balancing and alignments. We have just given up and plan to buy 1 steer a year.

    Tire wear ? W/photo

Our drivers side steer tire does that also. We buy a new one every year and have it mounted on the passenger side and rotate the older tire to the drivers side. We end up getting around 200,000 to 250,000 miles before replacing the oldest one.

New NJ Ice law goes in effect.

How about avoiding NJ as much as possible. No fuel tax money, no sales at trucks stops, not toll money, etc. Maybe they will stop enacting stupid laws. There are several trucker unfriendly states where I will make no purchases while passing through. My personal protest to stupid laws.

New NJ Ice law goes in effect.

The fine for cars is 25-75 dollars but for a CMV is 500 to 1500 dollars. A car can easily be cleaned, but cleaning ice and snow off a truck is dangerous. How is a driver supposed to safely accomplish this? Where is OOIDA on this? Maybe if we all stopped going into these states that enact...
