The QC is the Omnitracks used by Landstar. I thought about the alternator getting hot, but as soon as we stop it jumps right back up to 14 volts. I am at home, so tomorrow morning I am going to pull the fuses on the power wires for the QC and take it for a drive to see if anything changes.

Normally our digital voltage read out stays at 13.9 while driving and 14.1 while idling. The last two days the voltage has dropped as low as 12.8 while running and seems to fluctuate from 13.7 down to 13.2 a lot. At idle it stays at 14 to 14.1. All batteries tested good. The alternator is...

Actually, we do have our own DOT number. Florida requires you to get one before you can get an IRP Tag. But it is only for Florida.

We are driving from Florida to Illinois this weekend to attend orientation. There are no markings on our truck other then the VIN Number. Are we supposed to put a sign on the truck that says In Transit Not For Hire?

I don't know. A friend of mine spotted the truck on there lot, checked it out, talked to the salesman, called me and told me how much I could buy it for. I called them, offered that amount, sent a deposit and flew up to get it.

Has anyone done a cost of ownership comparison between these two vehicles? If you were to purchase both new, run them 500,000 miles and then sell them, which one would cost more to own? I know the Sprinter costs more to purchase and maintain, but it also gets better MPG's and may last...

I don't think there is anything wrong with posting something negative as long as the story is true, all facts are presented and you've gone through the proper channels trying to get the situation corrected. Unfortunately it is rare that you will you find someone calling out a carrier or owner...

Take it through the proper channels at Panther. Document everything. Times dates and the name of the person you talked with and what they told you. Keep copies of your BOL's. Remain professional, calm and courteous. If that doesn't work find a good lawyer.
