Our starter died yesterday. I called my local shop and they have a mechanic that contracts with them to do mobile work. They (2 mechanics) did an excellent job testing the electrical system and determined the starter was indeed bad as one of the connection terminals had corroded completely off...

Maybe these are the reasons why we still don't have one. Can't afford the upfront costs and then the downtime for repairs.

This brings up another question. We have a battery kill switch that shuts everything down. I'm wondering if it really shuts down "everything". The cable coming out of it seems small to go to the starter. Hard to trace as it disappears into the frame.

Automatic. Eaton Ultrashift 10 speed. When the key is first turned on you can hear the transmission doing the self test and then we get a neutral light. But it is doing the same thing it would if you tried turning the key before the test is done.

If you were sitting at a traffic light with the trailer tail open and someone ran into it who would be at fault? I don't see any lights on them. They appear to hang out about 3.5 feet past the bumper.
