Phil: Correct. Just as you would be terminated for violating the sitting duck rule or having an at fault accident during your first year. Every company has its own rules.
xiggi: I think so.
If we were offered loads at a decent all miles rate we would have a higher acceptance rate. We have to decline a lot of loads and make a counter offer. That decline counts against us, even when we accept the load the next time it is offered. (at a higher rate)
We take loads at a lower rate...
Look at the bright side. The contractors that want to bump up there acceptance rates by taking low paying runs will eventually go broke and leave the business.
I think they should use CSA scores in the ranking. Give the loads to the trucks and drivers that don't get violations and maintain there trucks and drive safely. Not some truck with bad drivers that don't maintain there vehicle but accept everything offered.
So when they keep offering the same load at $.70 a mile and you keep declining it your acceptance rate will go down and other trucks may get a load before you.
And if you accept it your rate will go up but your profit will go down. Sounds like a lose-lose proposition to me.
We'll just keep...
We are on percentage plus FSC.
However, we call it negotiated compensation. If the rate offered does not meet our requirements we ask for more money and if none is forth coming we do not do the run.
We do not expect to hit it out of the park on every run but it sure is nice when a really good...
It does feel good pulling for a team that is winning again, finally. It has been a long time for us Dolfans. Hoping for play offs this year and Superbowl next year.

What carrier are you planning on running with?
I think you will be limited to @ 25,000 lbs of freight due to the single drive axle.

The Florida Ag inspection is also a fuel inspection where they are looking for IFTA stickers. If you have to scale you have to stop unless you get a green light on PrePass.
Do any of you straight truck drivers carry a generator inside the box?
Would doing so cause any problems such as having it in there with HAZMAT loads or food products?
