    sprinter to ford/chevy

Here is the correct answer, 1995 and older chevy and gmc vans used unibody construction. When GM redesigned there full size vans for 1996 they went to a full frame with a body that bolted on.

Monocoque from wikipedia. Unibody or unitary construction is a related construction technique for automobiles in which the body is integrated into a single unit with the chassis rather than having a separate body on frame. The welded unit body is the predominant automobile construction...

    sprinter to ford/chevy

I had a 76 full size gm van, a 78 full size gm van, a 89 full size gm van and now a 2000 dodge full size van and all are what I consider unibodies. I also had a 89 full size ford van that was a full frame van. What I consider unibody is having a stamped steel u channel welded to a floorpan and...

    Cross dock nightmare

Good advise wellarmed, but I believe that they are required to go where panther tells them to. As long as panther, which is the customer in this case, remains satisfied with the cross dock service, the drivers feelings do not matter.

    Panther Refusal Stats

Business partnership is just a term used to inflate the O/Os ego. The fact that panther started this policy this quick and with little warning proves that they consider O/Os more to be employees than business partners. With that said I respect what panther is doing, they need to get these loads...

    Total newbie questions

I will agree that expediting is time critical but you dont have to stay out 3 weeks at a time. I only stay out long enough to get the load delivered and to get back home. I also do this on a part time basis and have a second business I run also. After you have been around expediting a while Mike...

D units hauling cargo van freight?

Why? Maybe he can run 1000 miles safely. I have done many runs in the 700 to 900 mile range and some a little longer and done them safely. There are no mileage limits put on vans except by the carriers themselves.

Major loss in the battle against cheap freight!!

Fedex will maintain there fleet OVM. When a O/O goes belly up Fedex will just replace them with another O/O and the fleet size remains the same. Fedex loses nothing and the O/Os are expendable.

Major loss in the battle against cheap freight!!

What exclusive use means here is that Fedex has complete control over what goes in your truck. Panther will let you book your own loads for a 15% fee, but Fedex does not let you do this. They claim you can at Fedex but from what I have read on here there are so many restrictions to it that it is...
