UD 2600 or Hino 268 (used truck decision)

International also has a good dealer network. Freightliner M2 with Cummins/Paccar engine is a good choice. Avoid ones with the CAT C7 engine.

UD 2600 or Hino 268 (used truck decision)

That year UD has both a DPF and SCR, so it's got two expensive systems vs the one. Winner=Hino. Yes, they're noisy and not as fuel efficient, but plentiful. Parts, especially engine parts, are MUCH cheaper. There's aftermarket support and multiple parts suppliers, an advantage over the...

UD 2600 or Hino 268 (used truck decision)

Diesel particulate filter. Everything past 2008 has one. They are $2000-$4000 and sometimes they just blow up. You need an International 4300 with a DT466. You can buy a half decent one for under $10k. You're looking at a steep learning curve here, so start with a truck they made millions...

Brick on the gas pedal is also unacceptable. The different pto boxes on Hino rollbacks tend to be limited to the 1200 rpm range. Sure, when run faster than that the bed works fantastically well, but the pto will eventually grenade, throwing metal into a $6000 transmission. The engine ecu has...

UD 2600 or Hino 268 (used truck decision)

UD stopped selling new trucks in the US fairly recently. Parts and qualified mechanics are going to dry up soon afterward. The 09 Hino only has a DPF, no scr aftertreatment system. That in itself makes it a winner. You say you know nothing about trucks. What will you be using this truck for?

Big Truck I work on Hino trucks. I'll answer any questions I know the answers to.

I'd expect to see a bit more steel particles since this is a rollback with a pto. If thr donut magnet is missing, even more so. They get lost frequently. You can test IMS if you remove it. Drain trans, save fluid if it's good. Remove pan, filter, IMS. Its the flat plate looking thing. Youll...

Big Truck I work on Hino trucks. I'll answer any questions I know the answers to.

The internal mode switch tells it if its in gear, based on pressure in various passages. Metal particles get in switch and cause a connection at bad times. Without having done a bit of research, I'd tell you to replace the IMS, the internal harness, and both filters. Make sure donut magnet is...

Big Truck I work on Hino trucks. I'll answer any questions I know the answers to.

I gotta open an Allison book. Ive replaced several of the internal wiring harnesses. They do fail. Also most Hinos have deep pans. If s shallow filter is used it falls off and all sorts of dumb stuff happens. Ill need a while to respond in detail.

    My Dad is dying.

In her case, she's developing a persecution complex. No one is allowed to disagree with her. If you need her to do something you've got to convince her that it was her idea to start with. And the rewriting of history is nonstop. Every dumb teenager thing I did 20 years ago has resurfaced...

    Evolution Deniers

Half of my family believes in a 6000 year old earth. They also believe that the rapture will happen during their lifetime. Right now the older ones are wishing they had squirreled some money away so they wouldn't have to be building houses at 80, instead of relaxing.

    My Dad is dying.

And I got a call from an unlisted number this morning. The person was gleeful that dad was on his way to Hell, and gave me a stern warning that I'd suffer the same fate unless I repent. And people wonder why athiests always seem angry. Perhaps if they first remove the plank from their eye. I...

    Truck air brakes repair toledo

If the brake chamber clevises arent put in the right position, there is a loss of mechanical advantage at the slack adjusters. It takes more air pressure to get the correct force at the s-cams.

    General sprinter rearend question

Update: the sprinter rear I built with parts from India went a year before it started whining. Perfect. Lovely. One of the guys changed the gear oil in it, didn't report any chunks falling out, so that's good. We're gonna wait and see what happens. It belongs to the owner's brother, so it's got...

    Mechanical 2012 hino 716 hybrid

There is a hybrid model available in the US. I dont know how it compares to the AUS models. Are you buying it for fuel economy reasons? Is there a tax rebate available for more fuel efficient vehicles? For the US models: If you are going to be making dozens of stops every day in a big city...
