Why does a Sprinter put me to sleep

Speaking of five cylinder engines, one in particular stands out in my mind. Remember back in the 80's when domestic V8s were making 190hp? Audi built this thing for Group B homologation and it was making 450hp in race trim. Then if you took two inline fives, joined them at 90 degrees at...

I agree. When the cups are installed, a sealant is applied before swaging it in place. I wonder if this was forgotten. One thing I have not seen but is possible is the compressor head gasket leaking and pushing in air. If it passes the combustion gas test, it's a suspect. Atmospheric air...

And put new head bolts in it. When coolant breaches the hg, they corrode.

The egr coolers are very robust and rarely fail. They do fail, however, when run low on coolant. If you've put a head gasket on the 05 and coolant is still being pushed out, suspect an injector cup. For the 08, take the head off and have it pressure tested. Leave the cups in the head. If it...

Did you get it? I hope you or one of your guys knows how to get broken bolts out. If you bought it and they are broken, replace them all. Upgraded hardware available. We've had about a 75% success rate on milling the manifold. When studs break, the manifold warps reeaaaallly bad. A couple...

Generally 400-500, it takes several hours to do. And holy crap. Are they also an Audi dealership? I thought we were a bit expensive.

If there's soot in the exhaust, the dpr is already wasted. DX software is needed to see soot amount. After a certain amount, the truck cant safely regen it. It would have to be baked. The truck will not regen until the software is used to reset it.

Its in "white smoke reduction mode" because of high idle time. The wooshing might be normal but is often broken exhaust manifold studs causing an exhaust leak.

Oh boy. Usually, def pressure codes are caused by air leaks or crap in the system. If it's air, you have to find the source. The DEF pump pulls def from the tank, pressurizes it, and maintains a certain pressure by bleeding it back to the tank. If the tank pickup line is leaking air at a...

2005 Sprinter second and reverse only

Here in VA, one of the items for a State inspection is that warm air from the defroster vents has to blow on the windshield. Not just while driving, but when vehicle is stationary. A JC Whitney 12v auxiliary heater (powered by cigar lighter plug, and sits on the dash) is not good enough. Tried...
