some people should never reach jail

I don't have much sympathy for criminals, especially repeat offenders. But there still is something called "due process of law" in this country. I don't like the idea of on site executions.

    Newbie needs advice

The problem with the Sprinter sleeper packages is you are isolated from the cargo area. This isn't a bad thing when there is freight on board. But when sitting a day or two between loads you lose about 10' of living area. Both Rlent and Turtle run solo in fully insulated, wide open Sprinters...

    Always something new to learn

The truck floor, without any rug, is too hot to stand on barefoot, which gave me an idea: placing something like a slice of pizza, or a ham & cheese sandwich, (in a Ziplock bag, of course), between the floor & rug, would warm things, without using the microwave. Cheri, will your floor pop popcorn?

    PRO BILLS

A Pro or Pro number is a progressive numbering system. Every shipment is given a progressive number designation. In the LTL and parcel industries each shipment is identified by a pro number and the freight is tagged with a Pro sticker which includes the pro number and bar code equivalent of...

Yep time for a strike - thanks GM!

Damage to your vehicle is a very real possibility, and the risk of damage is just not worth it.DD. I worked for a non-union LTL carrier during a Teamsters strike. We didn't cross any picket lines but did manage to pick up an unusual amount of sharp steel in our steer tires.

Business Minded or just a Job?

Life is a state of mind. We all approach things a little differently. Now I think I will cut bait so I can fish after the windshield repairman fixes what he screwed up last Tuesday.

Yep time for a strike - thanks GM!

yesterday I read that they were close to an agreement. what happened? I remember driving by a GM facility in Flint, must have been 1998 and seeing all the UAW members picketing. I had a delivery to the technical center. When I got there, no picket line, but the guard called the engineer...

Best Concert you have ever been two OK top three

RE: Best Concert you have ever been two OK top thr Frank Zappa, at a UW, Eau Claire gymnasium. It was an unseasonably hot spring in 1974. The gym or fieldhouse was 90 degrees inside, but what a show they put on. Napolean Murphy Brock was smokin'. Dion was the opening act and the crowd...

Business Minded or just a Job?

    >Believe his post questioned if you chose to "fish" or "cut bait"? There is a large difference, can you figgure it out there Manlaw? Which are you? A bait cutter or fisherman? Different rewards you know. You must cut bait before you can fish. A good fisherman can do both. I am a one man...

    Take your shoes off please!

Carry some of those disposable slip on shoe cover things. Ask the nice rent-a-cop dude to please use them before entering your truck. As an added bonus allow them to keep the little booty things. Also with a magic marker and a bit of imagination these shoe covers make wonderful hand puppets...

    Shamed by Newbies

Shame: 1) a painful feeling of guilt for improper behavior, etc. 2) dishonor or disgrace 3) something regrettable or outrageous. I would think if one helped someone get started in a new endeavor and they became successful, one would have a feeling of pride. I guess I know what the "A" in...

    New View

Yesterday afternoon I talked with Becky, Panther maintenance about getting a new windshield. She set me up with Safelite and I called them and made an appointment. This morning at 08:30 an installer came to my house and replaced my windshield. Cost to me was the $100 deductible. That was it...

    Wiper Ice removal gadget

Great idea Dave, I think I will give it a try. I have a couple hundred feet of medical grade tubing I think is the same diameter. All I need is some connectors. At one time I drove a Ford 9000 daycab with the washer reservoir mounted inside the cab on the back wall. Washer fluid was always...

    Wiper Ice removal gadget

Linda, let us know how they work. I suppose you can't wait for winter so you can give them a test run. Another tip for keeping wipers clean is keep the windshield cool. I try to avoid using the defrost. I like to have the cab cool and the heat flow coming from the floor ducts.

Rich, you can't go wrong with taking her out to dinner. My wife and I are celebrating 26 years this Wednesday. I am picking her up at the airport that afternoon and we will be enjoying Juicy Lucys and a pitcher of Grain Belt at the 5 & 8 Club before returning home. Do I know how to show a...
