How safety nazis affect us all

As soon as the government starts making lampshades out of human skin, that's when it's time to worry, because the checks and balances are no longer working, and the rest of the world is turning a blind eye.

    September Locations & Banter

With the Oregon Aero, I'm not having to constantly shift around to get rid of sore spots, and after 8 hours of driving I'm not all stiff and sore all over. I have the 2" seat and the full back.

    War games or military build-up?

In the very first sentence in the Bloomberg piece it states the exercise is a "a show of force as tensions escalate over a threatened Israeli attack on Iran's nuclear facilities." In the third paragraph is plainly states that the exercise is a warning to Iran. Does Janes say that it's not a...

    Best Wipers-Bug Juice

Amazon.com, usually, as they have the cheapest prices I've found. It can be found on eBay, as well. List price for a single applicator is $9.99, but the best prices are the ones in the $3-$5 per applicator range. Four applicators is enough to do the windshield, side windows and mirrors. If it's...

    War games or military build-up?

Actually, they are. Military engagements and exercises are all about the money, and when it's all about the money, Bloomberg is all over it. I love this, though: In addition to serving as a warning to Iran, the display of power will “signal to Israel that the United States has a military...

If it gets real bad, keep in mind that, although they can be a little greasy, Dawgs are quite tasty.

    Best Wipers-Bug Juice

For rain repellant, I have found Aquapel to be far superior to Rain-X, although I like Rain-X a lot. Aquapel needs to be applied to ultra-clean windows, but it lasts at least 6 months and leaves no film. Bugs and dirt are washed off a lot easier with Aquapel, too. It takes two applicator packs...

    Amazing Facts

Unfortunately, this is the kind of stuff that dominates my thinking most of the time. Did you know that, through water, light travels at 75% the speed of light? Sounds travels through water four times faster than it travels though air. Just like the wind, sunlight has pressure, about 2...

Interesting bio of O'bama from Harvard

If you'd had read the Web page at the link you provided, you'd know that it was not, in fact, taken from Obama's school bio.

Gun Owner can you vote for Democrats?

That's specifically why I said, "It's be interesting to see what the numbers look like when they do the annual survey again this October."

Gun Owner can you vote for Democrats?

47% of Americans have guns in their households (somewhere on their property). The percentage was highest in 1993 at 54%, but it's been running pretty steadily between 40-44% in the years in between. One might be tempted to think that the current percentage of 47% is all Republicans, but it's...

    The folly of trusting gummint

You're confusing "stolen coins" with "gold not turned in". The government didn't keep those coins because they were gold that wasn't turned in, they kept them because those coins were stolen from the Mint in the first place. They could have stayed in that safety deposit box for another 50 or 100...

    The folly of trusting gummint

That really doesn't have anything to do with stolen gold coins that were never released into circulation, does it? Especially since they were minted prior to the confiscation of gold by the government.

    The folly of trusting gummint

Well, if you read the above story, and that's all you really know about it, then the above is a perfectly reasonable characterization. However, if you know the history of these coins, which are quite famous, then a more accurate characterization would be, "STOP! THIEF! Hey! That guy just stole...

    GPS flashing green arrows

One thing I really like about the Garmin is that, over time, it learns your driving habits. Some learn your routes, which is more for regular commuters than expediters, but the main thing is that it learns your driving speeds, and will adjust arrival times accordingly. It's amazingly accurate.
