    The 1000 Mile Load

Remember that really long "Action Items" list that ended up being the "Unfinished Items List"? I've still got it, and the laughable update, on my computer. I have no idea why.

    Getting back into the game

Freight is everywhere. If you don't want to get out of the freight lanes, don't take a load that takes you out of the freight lanes. Accepting fuel and lunch money to move expedited freight only encourages shippers to keep offering fuel and lunch money to move their freight. It's a short term...

    The 1000 Mile Load

If it's a forklift operation, you drive to an LTL dock or sometimes even a tow truck lot where it is transferred. These places are always out of routing, although many are just a few miles. Some are 20-50 miles out of routing. But they do generally pay for all miles driven (sometimes Zip-to-Zip...

    The 1000 Mile Load

That's exactly the way the system is set up. Dispatch dispatches the load, and then once the load is picked up, Safety then takes a look at the load and figures in the available hours for the driver. Safety lets Dispatch know when the driver is required to take a break. If Dispatch determines...

Can You Quantify EOBR $$$ Benefits?

Depends on how you value your free time. I value mine a great deal, whether it is spent reading a book, watching TV, doing stuff on the computer, playing a game of chess, any time I spend doing exactly what I want to do is valuable time. A few minutes a day not having to spend on childish proof...

    Computer hacking

FWIW, I use Lastpass for passwords. Very secure, generates secure passwords, and it keeps track of them instead of you having to memorize them or use a text file or a notebook for them. Even my technotard step-dad uses it.

    Computer hacking

One way it so check all active connections. Easiest way is to drop to a command line window and run netstat. netstat -a netstat -n are the 2 to try first. It's best to have the browser closed and as few connections as possible going when you do that, otherwise it can be time consuming to go...

Did you hear about the new pirate movie? It's rated ARRR! What do pirates do when their parrots die? They barrrbecue it. Where do pirates keep their buccaneers? On either side o' their 'buccan' head, of course.

How safety nazis affect us all

Really? You don't see the difference between an action, and a statement of belief? How about an action, and a statement of belief that was never actually stated?

How safety nazis affect us all

All true, which is why we have to be vigilant. But all of those things happened, as well, many times, long before the first Lenninst or Nazi, and nobody called them Nazis or Lenninists then. Referring to every.little.thing as Nazi is no different that the overblown, attention grabbing...

    Staying warm this winter?

You said it yourself, a couple hundred pounds. The more amp hours the batteries, the more lead they'll have. I've got four 6-volt deep cycles that weight about 90 pounds each, including cables, lugs, fuses and other things. About 350 pounds or so. Mine is 610 amp hours. 300 amp hours should...

Egypt orders arrest of US-based Copts over film

Which makes it significant. I understand what you're saying, that it would otherwise be insignificant, but the fact that they chose to pee their pants over it makes it significant. Yes, a Christian organization that has very colorful history of broadcasting long and loud anti-Muslim rants on TV...
