    April location's and other gossip

Greetings from Boston, where I just delivered a single, 500 pound ball bearing. Not sure what to make of that. Got a pickup in the morning at the Boston Opera House. I sure hope the fat lady ain't singing when I get there.

    House destroys 4th amendment

No, Congress never has, because it's in the Constitution that they can't. But it was a bone of contention with the framers of the Constitution, in part because the Church of England was established in Virginia as the official religion, and the other states didn't want any part of it. By 1702...

There it is! Hallelujah! There's the smarmy comment I was expecting. Thanks much for not disappointing. :D

Teacher fired for giving Bible to student

You don't think comparing bowing your head in silent prayer to a satanic ritual isn't ridiculous? Okayeeee. No, it's not their right. The only way it can be a right is if legislatures give it to them, which is inherently a tenuous right that can be just as easily taken away, or if they manage to...

Three references, actually... To do my duty to God and my country be morally straight is reverent Mine certainly had the overtones, especially the troops I was with that met in churches, but it wasn't the primary focus, of course. Excellent. There's almost no way you could be. :D As people get...

RLENT, you really shouldn't display the ACLU's nutbag like that to Leo. He'll have an aneurism.

    House destroys 4th amendment

Those who think that are the same people who want to be able to make exceptions to the rules, depending on their own religious or political bent. The ACLU holds an absolutist view of liberties, where they defend all people whose liberties have been violated, even if their views, ideas or...

It's difficult to respect a right that doesn't even exist. Saying that it exists doesn't magically make it exist. Stomping your foot real hard and saying it exists really, really forcefully doesn't, either. This is known as the Straw Man logical fallacy, commonly found in highly charged...

You wouldn't be bowing your head TO anything. You'd simply be bowing your head, like everybody else, out of simple civility and politeness, to make others feel more comfortable and at ease. Sure, why not? No skin off my nose. And I have. I've been to other churches and synagogues, and like Leo...

    Insulation Questions and Concerns

I dunno. I think it was either half an inch or an inch, probably an inch. Might be 3/4". It's blue, I know that. :D I got it at Lowe's, just a piece of foam board. I used those to fill the large voids in the sides, doors and ceiling, instead of using nothing but canned foam, and then used the...

    Insulation Questions and Concerns

No, I used foam board and canned foam in all the voids, behind all the panels, and the doors. Then I put Reflectix over everything, then replaced the panels where they are supposed to go. BEFORE AFTER PANELS BACK ON That kind of thing. Bare metal without voids, I just used Reflectix.

    House destroys 4th amendment

First of all, your argument with prayer in schools is with the Supreme Court, not the ACLU. Secondly, while the NRA is zeroed in on a certain area of the Constitution, so is the ACLU. Their "mission statement" that isn't a mission statement that you quoted, but left out the context of that...

    Insulation Questions and Concerns

I used a combination of Loctite (same as Liquid Nails) and 3M spray adhesive for the Reflectix. For the foam boards, I usually just used a little spray foam that would act as a sort of glue that held it in place while I installed the Reflectix.

I can't recall any particular religious schooling, per se, but we had a prayer before sporting events, and when religion was relevant in a subject we were studying, we didn't pretend religion didn't exist (like they do now). We also had a morning prayer over the intercom in elementary school...

    House destroys 4th amendment

The NRA is an ultra conservative organization who does not operate at all toward protecting and upholding the Constitution but operates completely toward forwarding their agenda, a small part of which accidentally meshes with the Constitution through no desire or intent of their own. To...

No, I can't. Anymore than I can't fathom the possible damage that might result from having Catch-22 in a school. Perception doesn't matter. It's reality that matters. People can perceive all kinds of crazy and untrue things, but it's what is actually happening that counts. I agree, no...

Talking Turkey( or how to catch a bobcat).

Of you see a bat in winter in Michigan, it'll be inside your house, because you've got a colony hibernating in the attic. In some parts of Kentucky, and certainly points south, it'll get warm enough to bring 'em out in the winter. If they don't find some bugs to eat pretty quick, they go back...

They aren't making themselves out to be something they're not. They have very clearly stated positions and goals, and they don't veer from them. It's not a matter of what I believe, it's a matter of actual reality. I don't agree with everything they do, but I gotta respect them for bring so...
