    Very Disappointing numbers

I don't believe it was said by anyone that one provided a service that the other didn't. It is different between the two with regards to how their sevices are marketed. That isn't anti anything. The priorities of both are different. That is why I referred to someone currently or just left for...

    Very Disappointing numbers

Well....I cut to the chase. One can call it or spin it any way they want. At the end of the day, your still at the same place.

    Very Disappointing numbers

I won't beat a dead horse on economics and the current business climate. Talcal did a pretty decent post on how businesses are solicited. Their primary goal is to sell Fedex freight. Their goal is to protect their stockholders and their own assets. CC has very little in the way of assets. A...

    Very Disappointing numbers

I don't know if there is favortism or not at CC. As I have said before, if they have an acceptance policy, then you have favortism. If not, then why have that type of policy? We are not contractors for CC, but have hauled their freight. It has been posted here a few times by others, but the...

    Panther changed their boards again

Even more so being a solo and it is going to TX which is where you want to go. If it isn't a truck load, you may be well able to grab something else and throw on with it.

    Anyone with clout

Not sure of your vehicle size, but you will likely have to do a macro 8 to see the activity from the surrounding boards, and then base your decision on that.

    Drivers for Owner Operators

You situation may be slightly different as you are running ONLY in Canada. Multiple stops for fuel may hurt a little, but it would depend more if he is purchasing at the lowest price available. With regards to trucks in the US, knowing the fuel tax imposed by states and then finding and...

    Panther changed their boards again

If you are south of Pittsburg, most of the loads historically come out noon or later.

    Panther changed their boards again

I often wonder this? Some say a LTL load doesn't pay enough, but they don't want to put the effort into maybe combining two loads. It is one of those things that the more you do it, the better you get at it. That experience is usually reflected in the rate. What I also see many times over are...

    Drivers for Owner Operators

One thing I am seeing an increase in as fuel prices rise is the fleet owners that pay fuel and have no generators on these trucks. I have received several calls over the last several weeks from owners trying to sell their trucks. I would attribute much of it to excessive idling, poor driving...

    Drivers for Owner Operators

With your pay plan, the biggest issue I see is no generator if you are doing a lot of waiting. I would also minimize any movements. Not sure if the FSC is adequate without knowing the rate your moving at, and whether any other miles are compensated outside of the loaded miles. Any excessive...

    Panther changed their boards again

I would say if you are still there I would take off the hometime request, move to another board, request an empty move to another board, or broker a load to Texas, or over to the mid west area where there is more freight going south.

    the TRUCC act

The issue I see only addresses the fuel surcharge. Some brokers have told me that "freight will move at market costs". I believe in many cases, fuel surcharge will pay at 100 percent, however they will pick up the difference they have been keeping with a lower freight rate. I am all for it...

    Panther changed their boards again

Almost could have worked. We had a truck in Philly this morning that is now on a load to Chicago.

    Panther changed their boards again

Being on hometime for Texas is likely an issue as well. Even more so from the location your at.. I wouldn't assume that there is a load going that way.

    Panther changed their boards again

I would be patient. Something should pop today. That area is usually pretty decent and is reflected in that load count number.

    Panther changed their boards again

That board was expanded to cover a wider radius last night. That is why the daily load count is higher. It doesn't mean that there have been more loads in your immediate area. If a load comes up, they (don't know for sure as of today), that it will take the closest truck within 50 miles and go...

I was referring to Fedex. Jevic is pretty much done.

    Fired From Ctx

As with several of the other posts, I am mindful that we are hearing only one side of the conversation. I see no personal attacks, only a statement as Dean07 interpreted the conversation. That in of itself is not a violation of the code of conduct. Lastly, the facts remain that they cut...
