    Thanks FedEx Custom Critical

In that case Dave had been out there for quite some time. Apparently the Fed didn't have the freight or he wouldn't have called me looking for a load. Just common sense Phil. As far as finding freight, these loads if I remember correctly were really for a Monday pickup so it took a few calls...

To be honest Phil if you must know, I had to be home for court for my son last year and was on the west coast. Davekc found me 5 different loads taking me home, but FedEx wouldn't let me move that freight so I had to deadhead home to Seville, Ohio from LA. Now those loads paid great money, but I...

Your right Phil. I don't think Dave or one of your former fleet owners switched because Panther has a nice lounge, showers, and free laundry. In Dave's case he can go home and have all of that.

That is true. You can go to the main building and walk up and visit everyone in dispatch. You can't however just walk to Andy Clarke's office and walk in.

Why wont they let Sarah talk to the press?

I would stretch the non-engagement of the press for as long as necessary. The truth is that Palin has the Obama campaign in a total tailspin. The longer she stays away from the media, the more it frustrates the democrats. I think is is very deliberate, and seems to be really working.

Are you jealous Phil? Sounds more like something from the 3rd grade class you may be sending a postcard to.

Dave did bring up a good point in that Panther operates two buildings at the Seville location. A driver can visit both without a problem. That is something I like about Panther. One doesn't have to go through numerous people to unlock a secret. Additionally, when Panther has a event or meeting...

    eye surgery

Good to hear. My dad had that done last year and had no problems. Just couldn't play golf for awhile. After a few weeks he was good to go.

I retired from the vending industry and several of them had that practice. Some with employees and some with contractors.

How to legally cheat your drivers (modified "for the children")

A exercise in enlightenment is fine for the benefit of the new. My interpretation was you felt wronged by the Fed when your "adult" version was very descriptive of how you viewed their practices.

in 6 years of being an O/O , have asked many times to see a proof of being payed 100% of FSC. yet to see it once ! Did got manipulated a few times.(yes, included in Panther orientation !). it's actually a smoke screen , an O/O lease to a carrier ,can care less of the contract between the...

Getting 100 percent of the FSC rather than part of it has been a real deal deal breaker for many. I have yet to see or hear a reasonable justification as to why a carrier would keep part of it.

How to legally cheat your drivers (modified "for the children")

While you may think you have been wronged by the Fed, this is a industry practice. There are roughly 200 third party logistic providers. Some are carrier owned and some are not. If you feel you are wronged by the Fed, obtain your own freight and deal with the shippers or brokers directly...

    Cat 3126

Lots of good advice. Biggest one is have the thing tested. That engine will be around for quite some time. New ones are still being built for marine and construction so parts shouldn't be too much of an issue. These engines are awesome in a marine application. ISC is cheaper to rebuild but...

    Fudruckers

I am beginning to think Jenny has divorced you. How long has it been? Two or three months to fix a reefer? You could build one from scratch in less time.

    QC $11.53/wk

Costs way too much. Even by comparison of what the carriers charge. Yep.....they are making money from it. No surprise. I think as technology gets more and more advanced, other advance and economical systems will come out. Keep in mind that it isn't just the system, but how it is integrated...

General Economic Conditions Continue to Deteriorate

Without a doubt the economy is stressing. But, it has a long way to go before we get to the conditions of 10 years ago or the wonderful Carter years.

    Lease Purchase

Some of my opinion would depend on what type of lease that it is. Usually the driver shoulders way too much of the liability. It is seldom I have ever seen a truck lease/purchase go to fruition. Or....go to the term of the lease. A search even here on EO should bring up numerous threads on this...

Best place for HVPs, Newbies read!

75lbs is very little weight. Probably could have thrown it in the sleeper for a ultra cushy ride. I would have done the same thing in putting it in the nose. However, if it was 7500lbs, I would then put it over the back axles. Why? On the average straight truck, the frame flex with the weight...
