    as the belt tightens

    Just Read Whitewolf's Lawsuit

Yep, you met one of our teams I think in VA. You weren't with Tri-State.

So what's left for those of us with reefers?

None is offered, but probably should be for some. Most of it is just common sense.

    A quick story

Thats funny. It is "secret" decking. :D Actually I found it at a estate sale. Bought real cheap as I don't believe they knew what it was used for.

    Downsizing the boards???

I don't know if our dh would really be any different than it is now. One thing I believe we will see will be high numbers of first outs on a board. One then would have to call to see where they are at. A place like LA may have 5 or 6 first outs, but they may not even be in the LA area. Like my...

    A quick story

The plywood is actually needed on palletized loads so the forks on the tow motor can get under the skid. They also make 4x4 composite planks that are nice too. Much lighter with handles and no splinters. I believe they are made with some type of plastic.

    Is THis What You Expected

Your opinion is actually true. There are a couple of nameless carriers that give their dispatchers incentives/bonuses to cover a load for the cheapest price. Nothing debatable at all on that one. I believe that they are doing it to maintain earlier profit margins with less available freight...

    A quick story

Not a likely item you will find in a beginners guide to expediting. Out of the few I glanced at, I doubt if the authors had a clue what they even were. Many don't know the opportunities they pass up by not knowing how to use them. Load rating is usually on the bar, but most are at least 1000...

    Downsizing the boards???

Were you one of the first outs on that board? We seen two. Did get a load this morning back east but not sure what board we were on? Either still on Topeka, or maybe Baden, IL?

    Downsizing the boards???

Coming out of the gate, it looks like a mess. Had a truck unload in Sullivan, MO 67 miles St.Louis and it showed we were 3rd out on a Topeka, KS board 307 miles away. They are still working on it this week supposedly, but I am not impressed with what I have seen so far. Can't comment too...

    Is THis What You Expected

Who is running loads that are less than the cost to operate them? I just had to ask. If it is a tax advantage/shelter one is seeking, there are much better ways than anything in the transportation industry.

    Status Clarification

Yep....that experience doesn't really matter until you actually need it. But, it is a ever changing business that one has to keep up with.

Comtempt for the EO Old timers

The ones that constantly write about it usually have the least of it.

So what's left for those of us with reefers?

They keep coming from another company and have to be retrained.

You seen that too? We didn't want to be the first.

    DOT Came a callin

I would certainly seek some council at this point. Based on what you are saying, the DOT is identifying you as the carrier rather than a lease operator. While it is water under the bridge at this point, you should have had a accountant and attorney, both with a transportation background...
