    "Yes, It's torture"...

At the end of the day, Obama has decided to retain the same "enhanced interrogation policies" that the Bush administration had. Doesn't mean he will use them, but none of them have actually changed. The only real mistake was publicizing them.

    Minnesota driving while fatigue law

Based on the information, I think OOIDA should be successful. I as well just don't see a clear guideline or defined parameters in which to enforce this type of law. With drinking for example, it is defined through observation and a breathalyzer. Whole thing sounds like a cash grab to me.

    Expediter Services

Based on the comments in the Fed forum, I think it is just sour grapes from some over the speed limiter issue.

Semi-Retired and looking to fit in somewhere

I believe I would have a different opinion on this. I am thinking you have very limited exposure based on what you posted. I don't know if both Panther and Fedex have too many trucks or not? I know we are running pretty steady, but are behind just a little from last year, so no horror...

    Virtual Truck Stops

For what it is worth. My last understanding of a few days ago is that a new EM plan goes into effect June 1st. Supposed to pay 75 percent of the fuel.

    Downsizing the boards???

I believe the missing component in all of this is that it wasn't developed with any of the drivers. Just as we don't know what would be the perfect fit for the dispatch office, they don't know what a perfect fit in the field would be. You need both for a successful program. In this case, don't...

    Downsizing the boards???

If you have microsoft works, you can read it. Save the file to harddrive and then use Works to open it.

    Downsizing the boards???

I am hoping I am not understanding it. We have a truck that just unloaded in CT and it says we are on a Long Island/Newburg board. The truck stops for this board are in NJ. Not sure where the 30 starts or stops, but we are more than 30 away from NJ. I am not following the logic to go to NJ for...

Schneider Quoting Rates at $0.69 per mile.

Certainly no mystery. This is going on in expediting, although much is not for a certain level of market share. I think it is more survival, especially among some of the smaller carriers. I am amazed at some of the rates being quoted out of certain areas. There still is some good paying loads...

    Virtual Truck Stops

Many on that list are more than 30 miles out. My personal opinion is the radius needs to be increased. Terminals like Boston need to be eliminated and moved inwards. 120 mile radius doesn't work well with coastal towns. Case in point. If one say delivers in CT, why would I want to go to Boston...

    I'm Bored: part 2.

Go to Tom Lee Park at the river this weekend. The big Memphis in May barbeque fest is going on. All kinds of good eating. After that you can walk up to Beale street for all kinds of blues and everything else.

Shades of Things to come to the Trucking Industry??

I would agree. My feeling is you have to have both. A focus on one sector would be detrimental as there isn't enough freight to support just "high value moves". Most companies whether non asset based or not, still need a level of constant cash flow to operate.

A Question for SUCCESSFUL Solo Drivers

    T300 Owners

Truck is ok. That happens when the electronic air inlet heater turns on. Will only happen when it is cold, or on first start up. After intake is warm enough, volt meter returns to 13.9

    Cargo Van Owner Shuts Down

What a rough situation. Hopefully everything works out. Can't say much more than what has been said. Your situation is one felt by many, including people outside of our industry. "When one door closes, another will open". We wish you well. On a side note, to the best of my knowledge...

    Whitewolfs lawsuit?

It seems like you are getting sound advice. It appears they are willing to accommodate a request to see the customer's bill. They are by law required to do that. If you act like a professional and make a personal appearance, I believe you will make great strides in what you seek. I would even...

    Downsizing the boards???

Still agree it is hard to tell what will happen until the smoke clears. We had a truck unload yesterday in Miami from Memphis, and we are loading out today from Orlando to NC. Good thing we didn't go to Tampa. I believe at least for awhile, we will maintain going to where we know the freight...
