    fleet owners name

I don't have any problem with my name being asked, but for what this member is requesting, he would be better served to talk to the fleet owner and get past and current drivers numbers straight from the fleet owner to make a assessment. As I have said before, if they refuse that information...

FedEx Ground hauling FECC freight ?

Ground did buy some reefer trailers because I saw them last year in Memphis. Now whether they are hauling CC loads, I wouldn't have a clue. This sounds more like a disgruntled driver.

    Which would you rather have?

Terry's link is the one I would subscribe to. There has been many posts on this in the past. All things being equal, a 60 percent to the driver and receiving 100 percent of the FSC is more beneficial to the driver(s) assuming they know what they are doing, and not just "steering wheel holders"...

    They finally wised up

I meant for the folks that double dip the system by running multiple shipments at the same time.

    They finally wised up

Legal, absolutely. Moral? Depends as some feel you are stealing loads if you take two or more.

    They finally wised up

I agree I believe the Fed will use it as a vehicle much in the way Tri-State does. If they can broker a load cheaper than their lease drivers are willing to run, then they are going to do it. Even more so with less trucks out there. I am amazed how cheap some will run for off the Panther broker...

    They finally wised up

That is how a lot of them work. Many just don't know it. Folks been double dipping NLM freight for years now. As for the Fed using the Alliance, I agree in that they probably are having to look at other avenues to move freight. Probably not as a primary vehicle to obtain freight. A lot of...

    99 Freightliner problems

Some of the engines on those do run hotter. If it has the original radiator, I would take a lazer temp gun and run it on the length of the radiator and see if you locate a cool spot. You are looking for a plugged radiator is the purpose in doing this. I am also assuming it was pressure tested...

    Please Help!!

I would be dealing with the engine manufacturer. In this case, the truck dealer is likely a waste of time.

    Please Help!!

That is a good suggestion with regards to OOIDA if you don't know someone already. Should add to my previous post, most if not all of the issues were directly tied to the new EPA junk on the motor. I think these things were rushed way to fast to the market by manufacturers and we are slowly...

Cargo Vans Who Run For More Than One Carrier: An Editorial

Yep. And that is why I have never understood the mentality of spending upwards to $200k for a reefer truck only to haul something for two dollars a mile.

    Are we CRAZY or what?

Welcome back. It has been a while since you have been on. You'll have a good time out there once you get going.

How has the recession, and the "recovery," affected you?

It started a little slower than previous years, but wound up as a real profitable year. I think the freight levels came back a little, but a whole lot less trucks available to run that same freight. A lot of o/o's and fleet owners tanked last year leaving some great opportunities for the ones...

Cargo Vans Who Run For More Than One Carrier: An Editorial

There is certainly no shortage of o/o's willing to run on the cheap. We see daily that loads passing through the system and turned down by the carriers drivers are quickly picked up by a lot of brokers. For everyone that runs at a decent rate, there is another that will haul that same load for...

    Please Help!!

This must be a reoccurring theme with these 08 M2's. Just talked to a couple with a 08 M2 reefer truck that they said was in the shop pretty much weekly. They indicated they had replaced two turbos and a whole list of other items. I believe theirs was purchased somewhere in OH as well. I...

Cargo Vans Who Run For More Than One Carrier: An Editorial

I think the truth is really somewhere in the middle. There is pressure on rates for a variety of reasons. Every carrier including non expedite ones are fighting for freight. The bigger companies do have more costs, but are always battling smaller outfits that run cheaper. On the other side of...

Cargo Vans Who Run For More Than One Carrier: An Editorial

I don't know that I would say this is exclusive to cargo vans, although I do agree they are impacted more by it.

Sounds like a good cause. If we were there, we would be game. For folks in the south, this is who we support through donations and functions. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

    Cruise Ship communication

They all have the service but it will be pricey from the ship. We usually will wait until you hit a port and call from there. Just have your cell set to international. Most plans are pretty reasonable.

8.3 cummins white smoking and black when driving

You have to find or go to someone that has the Cummins software. You need a set up that can do a cut out. A bad injector won't throw any codes.
