I think where you are sitting is the biggest issue. The other trucks whether in Jax or Orlando are closer to the where the loads are actually coming from. If you are over 100 out from JAX and they need a 90 minute pickup, they will go for a truck in town verses one much farther out.
Probably...
I am guessing it must be the vehicle type or the location in where one is sitting. The ones we did were from Jacksonville and the other was from Cape Canaveral. The previous week we did one and the return load out to IN was from Fort Myers. We did sit a day on the last one, but hard to complain...
Where are you at in FL?
We had two trucks there and both loaded out on Panther loads.
Might want to consider a broker load out or just head to Atlanta or South Carolina. Kinda foolish to just sit there.
Wouldn't happen as long as Obama is president. The Fed represents as a whole, non union labor. The teamsters represent UPS and control Obama. Do the math. Won't happen any time soon.
Plus....The Fed doesn't have the cash to buy them.
From the little I know on the subject, I believe they are trying to convert Fedex company drivers to unionize via the teamsters. The current Fedex company drivers are covered under the old railroad act. UPS is trying to push or influence legislation that would force the Fed to unionize.

Sad but true. It amazes me the calculators that some use. Same with people that demand 40 percent and the owner pays the fuel and they actually think they are making more.
I wouldn't be surprised that they have one. These that get booked in Mexico are then brokered to a Mexican carrier to get them from the plant to the border and then put on a truck from the company that originally booked it down there. And your right, these loads seldom would show up on a board...
Most of those nameless carriers are doing multiple shipments on a straight/sprinter that is why they bid them that cheap. I am starting to see a increase in loads that are actually being booked in Mexico rather than the border which I hadn't seen much before. I think that is happening for this...
I can't say I really see a "Sprinter premium" when I look at loads, but what I do see is a discounted straight rate. They just tell the customer it it isn't a dock high truck. If the company demands it, then they charge for the straight with no discount. The only ones making the decent money...
Too many Sprinters and it doesn't take any special licencing to operate one. Not going to see many companies willing to pay more for that type of vehicle with so many. Sorry, but that is how it is. With so many out there, the carriers feel little obligation to pay more. Only when they have no...
I think you forgot the biggest two. References and reputation.
I always advise someone to get a few numbers of past and present drivers to make a assessment. That by itself will give you a wealth of valuable information. We have been at this a good while and the decent reputation and proven...
Use to have these problems many years ago. Find someone were you can obtain your own freight or get your own authority.
For all the time and waiting/moving around, you could have found a load and been long gone. If a carrier can't find a load in three weeks out of the valley I think I would be...
