Fair Warning to White Glove Dog Owners

This has really turned into a comedy thread. If you can't have dogs is one of their rules, then one would think they knew that when they signed up. If they don't like it but like white glover work, there are several carriers that do the same without that restriction. As for the Phil post on...

    Class 7 vs Class 8

Either one. They are essentially on the same platform except for the electrical system. Petes use a floating ground system and KW individually grounds everything. As far as class 8 verses the 7, as mentioned we have both. I can't say one is better than the other unless you do a lot of heavy...

    Class 7 vs Class 8

It would just depend on how they are set up. Class 8 could go to a million. But you will pay more on the front end. A class 7 will cost less, but would have to be rebuilt sooner. A class 8 will have a higher resale value, but after 5 years or so, they are both pretty close. To reduce costs...

    User Friendly Load Boards

If posting loads I would agree with Charles.
  11. davekc

    what the

Just wait until they do away with board positions. I believe that is coming sooner, rather than later. The ones that are focused on them will have difficulty. The ones that don't, won't. As I have said here before, it is a waste of time to worry about board positions and all that first out...

    Cleveland Solo drivers

Have to agree with some of the other posts. Just the gross number means little except for activity. In addition to the gross number you would need the DH, total miles, and the amount of days available in that 30 day cycle. Even better is the revenue for all miles. Just the net is worthless...

    Dumbest load offer yet.

Since the Fed joined the Alliance/Sylectus it should be popping up for close to $2.00 a mile. Your right. Wonder if someone will catch that one piece @ 10k. Really need a large rail gate for that kind of weight.

Fedx considering option of a flat rate for strt and tt

Maybe 10 years ago. Not even close in todays world. Need to go to the Fedex forum and read up on some of those rates and extended rot times between loads.

    what the

I would agree. The employee mentality has done quite a few in. "Businessman first, driver second".

lets all pay more taxes - 1099

Most over the road drivers use a variety of repair places. A 1099 would have to be issued for each location. 10 repairs at the same location is one 1099. 10 repairs at 10 different facilities is 10 1099's. Also, if something is a chain but may be franchised, you likely will have to do a 1099 on...

Can you work for more than one company?

You can buy separate cargo insurance or a supplement to the carriers coverage. Since you are familiar with Panthers, if a load is a high dollar broker load, you must purchase additional insurance based on the value of the load to haul it. I would remind people also that the load insurance they...
