    Need info. on A. Blair

I knew from the first post you were entering dangerous territory.:D

Very true. We see the gross coming up, but the majority of the increase is going in the fuel tank.

The 200k to 300k sounds realistically possible. Once you start going over that, it becomes questionable. Even at those numbers, it isn't done with any frequency. If so, you would see dealers selling trucks right and left. Never overlook the obvious.

That 170k would be a tough one as a solo regardless of rate. But with that said, it isn't what you make but rather what are keeping? If that is workig for you, I would hang where you are at.

Never seen numbers like that when we were there. Then again, if that is the numbers with a dry van, we should see a post pop up from the reefer crowd making claims of over half a million with a single truck.

    coolant loss

Coolant in the oil could be coming from many places especially with 900k on the clock. As mentioned, could be the EGR or cracked injector tube. More serious items with coolant in the oil could be a cracked head, block, or leaking gasket. I would not continue to drive it as the coolant in...

    Sadness for the EO Family

Jeff and I go back a good while. He certainly had that ability to turn a conversation into a masterpiece of informative literature. What a talent that was truly admired by everyone that knew or came in contact with him. A lot of the times we would talk for hours about absolutely nothing and...

Are rates for the truck or the load?

Tough call when looking at van/Sprinter rates because you are booking a load with a one pallet variable. With straights it is much different. I would throw a van load on, but if it is at a van rate, you can bet I would throw another load with it. Double dip if you will. Exclusivity has a...

find a driver has never been so hard

Most of it is poor performance on the carriers part with regards to driver retention. That is both truckload and expedite. Rather than address the actual problem, many are looking for the foreign labor down south of the border to fill the void. I don't think it was by accident that all the...

400k in a straight truck? No....not seeing it with a truck leased to a carrier. But there have been in the past some wild tales of making three dollars a mile and always being predispatched.

    who is slow

Pretty busy but surprised at the little amount of auto freight. Most decent paying loads seem to be Uncle Sam gigs at least for the first two weeks this year.

    Expediter Services

I guess I am not quite getting this. The carriers are the ones giving the fuel discounts through their card services and they tell you where the freight is and isn't. So, could one get a saving of 186 a month or 2232 a year in savings on the insurance? Not likely when using Progressive as a...

Arizona shooting: Barack Obama appeals to America to become better

Pretty much a politcal rally. Some of his speech would have been better applied at the upcoming state of the union. Fairly decent speech but the wrong place. Can't say I have seen or been to a memorial or funeral with a lot of applause. Pretty wierd. Hopefully everyone got one of the tee...

Call for Fox News to drop Glenn Beck

I would say it is BS. The first news outfit to run something like that would be MSNBC and not a word over there about anything Glenn Beck that would be current.

Controversial posts are moved to the Quiet Forum where only banned users can read them but can't respond.

    unpaid for 2 months

It is not a function of the carrier to get involved in a driver/owner dispute.

lets get this palin thing over

Kinda the same thinking. She isn't exactly presidential, but.....what we have now isn't either. Tough call.

    Insider info?

I have seen detention higher than 200 per hour. But, it is not certainly not the norm. Will most carriers disclose this? No.

    Insider info?

Most companies either manually look for the available unit or use a "vehicle near" program to locate the truck. No right or wrong answer unless you know in advance the origin of the freight.
