    2003 cat 3126

Could be a seal, but sounds like it is manufacturing oil. Could be a cracked injector tube as well with is dumping fuel into the oil.

where the h--- is the frieght

I would agree as he answered his own question. A solo usually can be a little limited on much of the expedite out there because of time constraints. That area of the country is pretty much team oriented with regards to Panther. If going out solo, I would have been looking for a return load...

Seeking reefer advice ... Thermo King vs Carrier

About 10 to 15 on a top mount depending on the hours. About half that for a frame mount. Nothing scientific, just what we have seen over the years.

    Independent Contractor vs. Employee

Most of it is how you are set up. If the ground folks at the Fed can and are considered independent contractors, I wouldn't worry too much comparing expediters. But if you do, you can lease your equipment to the driver and have them incorporate and not even worry about it. Then it is a company...

FedEx Freight Rolls Out Streamlined Operations

From a carrier prospective it makes sense to them because they cover more loads. Might not provide the same level of excitement for their contractors.

FedEx Freight Rolls Out Streamlined Operations

They do broker a lot of stuff out that you think they would keep. I am assuming they broker the high dollar loads and keep their own trucks on the cheaper accounts that they can't broker but have volume.

Coming to a carrier near you - EOBRs

Another brilliant regulatory maneuver courtesy of the Obama administration. Before you know it, we will be driving 10 mph, and only allowed to drive 24 hours in a week. Imagine the cost of that roll of toilet paper. Could almost qualify as cheap entertainment taking a load of those...

    who is slow

May want to switch carriers or your calculator is different than mine. Just on simple math assuming the carrier pays 1.50 total rate, and fuel is factored at $3.50 per gallon against 8MPG, I see 2000 miles with adding your 500 DH to come out to $625. That is assuming you get nothing at all for...

    New to Fedex Custom Critical

I think some of the favoritism angles get fueled by posts whether accurate or not of making 400k in a straight dry van. One could deduct using that speculative number that straight reefers are making over 500k a year. Hard to reconcile the difference of what is factual or could be...

Do you tell ur carrier about warning ticket?

On commercial trucks over 33, I believe it does. It is actual points on your CVA score.

Do you tell ur carrier about warning ticket?

Is that necessary with a van since they aren't regulated?

I need a driver agreement to look over.

A decent transportation attorney will already be versed and experienced in labor law. Use to deal with endless numbers of them in another field outside of expediting in numerous states. Their scope of experience will generally go beyond just accident and general liability issues.

I need a driver agreement to look over.

If the lawyer is asking you for examples or template, that is not a good sign or lacks the experience in the transportation field. . Find a good transportation attorney in your home state. Some items may be state structured depending on whether you are a sole proprietor or a corporation.

    Obama's mistake

Might have been smart IF you were really trying to fix the economy. Giving 11k to citizens doesn't provide control. Politicians of either side have no interest in giving up that said control.

    Tonight's pep rally

From the little bit I have heard, it is another pep talk to support his new stimulus package. This time it is to keep up with China and India and we must sacrifice some more in order to do it.

Safety Management System; What Hath the FMCSA Wrought?

The very reasons you mentioned is why there are legal challenges to this system. Without a doubt this could be used as a sales tool against many carriers. My personal opinion is this was done to increase the regulations. Kind of a false sense of need.

thinking of buying a couple of sprinters, what do yall think.

May get a better return in Vegas. Fleet ownership was much easier years ago because the margins were much different. With the operational costs today, there isn't nearly the room for errors as in the past.

thinking of buying a couple of sprinters, what do yall think.

Buying and maintaining a Sprinter may be the cheapest part. Finding the drivers will be easy. Finding good productive drivers may not. The cost of maintaining good drivers may exceed your maintenance costs. Management skills and whether you can keep drivers profitable will be key if you are...

    Anyone Drive for T&K?

If a carrier regardless of size can't find a expedite load out of Chicago, they aren't looking.
