one week is all you got

92 cents per mile, all miles? Sounds like JB pay. Hopefully, some T/T peeps on here will open up shortly. Geez. I average better than that in a 14 ft cube. Way better. in I think you should set your sights higher than THAT. You'll go broke soon on that kind of pay.

In your opinion who are the 5 largest expedite carriers?

I heard Dave was now so rich and powerful that he was going to hold the world hostage for ONE MILLION DOLLARS with a new super weapon he calls a "laser." :D

one week is all you got

In MY opinion, I would go solo w/ a smaller carrier such as Bolt or C & M. Why? There are some solos on here in straights and tractors at Panther who say they are doing great, but others who are struggling with company limitations. Some larger carriers won't offer a solo anything over a 550...

    What is Cheap Freight, Really?

The problem is, that that person doesn't realize that they ARE paying for a full truck (yours) if they want it tomorrow night. If they want it whenever, then they can have a "whenever rate." By the way, most brokers have two rate systems, one for carriers and one for Owner operators (w/...

    Fleet owner observation

One of the reasons I believe that Dave posted is that he is not only a successful businessman, he is a teacher. That is also the reason he instructs at the Expo. He could just be sitting back enjoying the fruit of his work, but instead he would like someone to understand a little bit of what...

Why do people get into this Business and take off 25% of the year?

If a team is out for 21 days and runs most every day, it would be equivilent to working an 8 to 5 gig. You end up working about 21 or 22 actual weekdays a month. If a person worked a "day job" for 50 of 52 weeks a year, not taking into effect holidays and/ or a sick day, they would work about...

This thread has been temporarily moved for review.

Basically we have an example of a probable drive-by poster, who signed up and thought they would garner some sympathy for being a bad businessman, bashing people by name who cannot or may choose not to defend themselves in this setting. On the other hand, the poster's identity has yet to be...

    What is Cheap Freight, Really?

BTW, as long as NLM is in business, their rates will be dirt cheap. You probably won't be driving down all expedited rates just because you took an NLM.

    What is Cheap Freight, Really?

Hey, if a large carrier (who shall remain nameless) can go and buy all of the loads out of Laredo on a Friday afternoon at $.90 per mile, just to stack them in their D and E units to get them the heck out of Dodge, why wouldn't they? Of course, if you're with a small 2nd and 3rd tier carrier...

    Craziest Load Offer Yet!

I know that Fedex's book rate for an E unit mini right now is 1100 and change. I can do the math. I've watched their website and seem the rates for C and D units fluctuate up and down a bit. Once again, it's supply and demand.

    All-TYPES expediting

With as many complaints as there are, I'm surprised no one has petitioned the FMCSA to pull their authority.

They also have a forum that seems to be patterned quite similar to EO. I checked out the threads and it seems that there is a LOT of misinformation about other carriers on there. The screen names are most likely phony, as it reads like a propaganda machine for them. The only carrier that gets...

    All-TYPES expediting

Mike, Do a quick search here and you will find quite a few threads on them. I've never done business with them, but I've never seen ANY good report on them anywhere. I'm not talking bout the usual "Panther-griping" that happens on here sometimes.
