Which carrier would you lease on with??

OK.....so are you saying to run cheap freight? Or run more for less? No one likes to sit, but if you can achieve the same revenue on 3000 miles for example, why would you run 5000 to be at the same place?

    Flat Rate vs. Percentage Pay

Nice picture there Moot. Does kind of some up the world of expediting. As for the variable of "flat raters getting loaded ahead of percentage trucks" is a tough one. Not knowing the frequency and to what degree they get longer loads has to be considered. Only experience or sitting in...

    panther?

Without question, a Sprinter or similar is going to be more versatile. With that said, starting in October, there will be additional opportunities from new business at Panther. To what degree they will be van loads and in what volume remains to be seen. Pretty much the reason you are seeing...

    Flat Rate vs. Percentage Pay

Must be just how they operate. We would have just waited in LaGrange. Outside of that, 1.49 for Panther must be for new ones? I can say we don't run at that rate. Could be for the flat raters. I think they get 1.10 plus the fsc but not sure. That is for all miles.

    Flat Rate vs. Percentage Pay

Wouldn't a percentage truck go to the same place?

    Flat Rate vs. Percentage Pay

The 1.80 could be considered with Phil's numbers because some DH is paid is it not on percentage trucks? I am aware he isn't factoring that. Where we are at it is all paid but many carriers pay something after the first 50 or 100 while others it is nothing. Just a thought to ponder if they...

is fedexcc who I should be with?

It may be a little trickier for someone new because the costs would have to be revamped. If one is running a fair amount of miles at a cheap rate, the operating costs, depreciation, and simple wear and tear is going to change. It will involve more than just fuel and additional oil changes.

is fedexcc who I should be with?

I don't see any indication that this was a flat rate program. But assuming that it could be, it would certainly require some major runs through the calculator to determine if it is profitable. Some may gross a high number, but that is much different than what you are really keeping. Basically...

We the only team thats slow?

What carrier is this that kind find loads out of Chicago? There are a ton of them regardless of vehicle size.

We the only team thats slow?

Might be the type of vehicle, carrier, or both. We have been busy and other fleet owners I have talked to seem pretty steady as well.

    A Rude Awakening- A Rant-Pet Peeves

I'll go back to my original thinking and let the carrier on site reps and roaming safety laisons address whether someone is not representing a carrier a certain way. Drivers reporting drivers can many times turn into different agendas whether someone is trying to knock a competing truck out of...

    FDcc flat rate?

Just for clarification. A new single truck owner coming on today will not likely receive the same rate a long term fleet owner has. But there are single truck owners that have been there awhile that do get the same fleet rate. Depends on what kind of contract you have. With regards to...

    A Rude Awakening- A Rant-Pet Peeves

I wouldn't be too worried about being the uniform police. Most of the large carriers have on site reps at numerous customers. They will bump into the bad ones at some point.

    FDcc flat rate?

Could have been anyone:D Have to admit, if I had 80 trucks, I would wonder why someone wouldn't just operate under their own authority? Then again, I have no desire to have 80 trucks.
