    Whirlwind Express

And that right there is the problem as posted. As for the carrier waiting to get paid 60-90 days, the carrier takes that on if he is going to do business with slow payers. The good news is there are only a few carriers that engage in this practice. You don't see a bunch of carriers here...

That I don't disagree with. It does take some doings to get everything in place. I think you put the cart before horse. One needs to have all of their financial vehicles in place PRIOR to accepting any owner operators/contractors. If it were me and you now have the problem, I would halt any...

What does your motor carrier owe you?

    I give it five stars.

    Whirlwind Express

I'll just cut to the chase. You either pay in a timely manner or you don't. 30 days to pay a contractor is pathetic. Why would you be looking at a way to possibly shorten it? One shouldn't be in business until they can. It would be a cold day as a fleet owner that I would float 30 days of...

    Whirlwind Express

Too many GOOD carriers to go to. If the slow pay issue is accurate I wouldn't waste my time with a carrier that their apparent focus is on foolish game playing. If you are paying 30,60,90 days and using a factoring company, well, you shouldn't really be in business.

Oddly enough, my first time of meeting them was in a hotel lobby at one of the expos. We really wish them well through a very challenging time.

If it isn't spelled out in the owners manual (you did say new) then I would check with a few Carrier dealers. Crow's in Memphis,TN is pretty knowledgable on those units.

How is your 2012 so far?

Trucks have been running quite a bit in the south, but the loads we had taken up north had generally been snow and super cold free. As for Florida, yep, will be here at the house till sometime in April.

    relocating

I would agree on calling your carrier for where and how they are getting their freight. As for TN and a straight, I would say anywhere in the state is kicking out straight truck loads. Load counts with our carrier are pretty close the same at all the major cities. That would include Memphis...

How is your 2012 so far?

Very first week was marginal at best for a variety of reasons. After that, it ramped up nicely. Turned out to be a pretty decent month and still a couple of days to go. Noticed out of the gate a lot of cheap freight floating out there (especially TX) that we wouldn't run. That seems to have...

Newt Skywalker - The Dark Side of the Goon

Paul had the best answer on this in the debate. If Newt gets it built, we could then send all the politicians there.

You could sue under a breach of contract if it is the carrier, but that is about it. If nothing else, a letter would speed them up because they may not know how hard you will push the issue. At the end of the day, I would avoid someone running on this plan unless they pay a very high rate on...

    bath in truck

The team trucks we have now all have them except one. Just too handy nowadays. Kind of nice to actually have hot water in the truck as well for a variety of purposes.

    air line freeze up

The alcohol verses the plastic parts in a Freightliner product would be a concern. Just because it would dry rot these parts out if the alcohol is introduced on a continual basis. If it was a KW or Pete, they don't use the plastic parts except in a few places and don't have the same air...

What do you cover them with? I know many places we go that propane canisters would be a big no-no. Wasn't aware people were carting those around.

Do customers ever say anything about having two propane containers in the back? I am assuming those are for heating the inside?
