a question for ron paul detractors

Think some found that out yesterday after that SC debate.

a question for ron paul detractors

Yes, an impact on what they are talking about, but not really on the outcome. Unless of course he goes independent. Then in that case, its more hope and change.

a question for ron paul detractors

I don't see Ron Paul ever getting close enough to winning that it would have a impact.

Food for Thought RE Hours of Service

It's amazing how ones perspective can change over a short period of time. Who would have guessed that Phil is now writing about things that myself and a few others said a few short years ago that have now come to fruition. But the good news is, "the sky isn't falling" but it is rapidly...

Food for Thought RE Hours of Service

True. I don't see the major impact for expediting, but with Phil's story of the OTR tractor team, it might make some difference. Just not sure there is enough of them to really overturn something like that.

I guess if all you are doing is looking up and expecting it.

    Owners paying the 60/40 split.

Assuming the FSC is fairly decent and you aren't deadheading all over the place, a 60/40 plan will always pay more. to the driver. That is of course with 100 percent of the FSC going to the driver.

    Owners paying the 60/40 split.

Biggest thing in fleet ownership that many don't get is that your teams/drivers are your greatest asset. Some confuse that with their equipment.

Things always change. Any of the above posts could describe many other businesses.

Should I hang in there or move on to another Carrier

If Try Hours is offering a 3k bonus per EO ad, one would think they have freight. Then again, it could be by design that it is unobtainable and just trying to add trucks? Don't know. Have to say that has been seen more than once. At the end of the day, you will have to shed the employee...

    TSA Stormtroopers at your home

Lot of carriers doing DOD loads and haven't seen this come up at any other carriers. Wonder if this is just a Fedex thing? Time will tell I guess.

Not seeing much of an issue either. Have to go with Star on this one.

Getting Freight; What do the Busy Drivers Do?

Agree pretty much with the others. Experience, carrier, equipment, and that dirty word "Luck". All of them are a factor one way or the other. But one must also be mindful that being "busy" doesn't always translate into being profitable. See alot of bargain haulers and people doing mass...

Would you pay $20.00 a week for Ez Pass and Pre Pass.

Hope so. Not even sure on a gallon to tell you the truth.

    Please Explain Difference for me

As long as they carry the proper insurance and you are satisfied with their compensation, it shouldn't matter.

Having his cake and eating it to!!

Totally agree. There in lies the problem. Unless something is changed, you have to have the earmarks. But the two are mixed together primarily for political scoring and talking points.

Having his cake and eating it to!!

I would probably say the same thing. Ron Paul a week or so ago was blasting Santorum over earmarks and he does the very same thing. Just typical Washington, but I do understand the need to bring back as much of the taxpayers money to their district. Many throw in a dollar but only receive .75...

    Please Explain Difference for me

A carrier either has their own trucks or contractors leased to them and a broker does not. Keep in mind, that some carriers are also considered a brokerage with the proper licensing.

Is this it for Ron Paul?

Any candidate is going to be happy with positive reporting regardless of the source. Fox and CNN and others are only running a story that might get mentioned a couple of times on that given day to very limited markets. Deep pockets will likely win the race. A handful of positive stories...
