    Bologna

I try not to miss Rudy's when in Texas, the bbq is great, but the sides put them over the top: new potatoes in butter, and desserts to die for. You can pick & choose any combination you like, and watch your brisket being sliced - love it!

    Driving thru Chicago

Yes, but Chicago isn't just 'some rush hour traffic' when you're driving a truck, remember. It's high stress & blood pressure all the way. Every time a 4 wheeler darts into the 'safe following distance' in front of me & then jams on the brakes, my heart stops, until I know that the truck will...

You knew it was coming. DOT bans handheld cell phones in trucks.

I will be a bit more willing to believe that DOT & FMCSA are serious about safety when they address the number one distraction I face very day while driving a truck: searching for street addresses. Until then, it's all about justifying their own existence [budget] and generating revenue.

Even if you could protect the freight from the weather, could you secure it properly? You'd be asking for big trouble if not - the insurance might well refuse to cover damage to freight they determine was not properly secured. Speaking of insurance, if it's CIS, John or Shelly can answer your...

Herman Cain stumbles badly on Libya question

And I feel the need to correct the impression that anyone is afraid of him [a favorite label for those who are disliked or not trusted]. Except maybe attractive women - but I think he might be more careful about that, now.

Got any Horror Stories About New Jersey's Snow and Ice Removal Law? - Truckinginfo.com Quick Google search found only fixed systems, or a 'roof rake' [doesn't sound safe to me!] and this inneresting article...

New NJ Ice law goes in effect.

Could you post a link, or a name, because I've never seen them? [Would go over big at the truck shows!]

New NJ Ice law goes in effect.

But substituting one danger for another is EXACTLY what the law will do, because truckers will get hurt trying to clear the snow themselves, as they have no reasonable alternatives. Eddie's deicing sounds good - but when I triggered the height sensor on the tp, the truck had been parked for the...

    Thanksgiving

I really want to get to Fla - my granddaughters think I am avoiding them, since I haven't been there for nearly a year, and seeing both my [grownup] daughters together is always a hoot. Thankfully, the elder is a good cook, too, lol.:D If it doesn't happen, I'll go where the freight goes, as always.
