    Looking For Company

Dave... would you put a solo truck on with Panther, though?

    Looking For Company

I don't recommend Panther as being the best place for a solo driver. Broom... I was the driver who deadheaded to Memphis from Laredo. How long do you think I should've sat? I dropped in Laredo on Sunday, and waited there til Thursday. I got that load on the following Wednesday after I got my...

    Looking 4

Why let your competitors get free advertisement on your site? Um... lest I'm stupid, the first amendment guarantees free speech from government interference. Nothing gives you free speech in a private forum. If that were the case, Target and Kmart could distribute flyers on Walmart property...

    Laredo

Sorry Broom... gotta disagree with you there. In your situation, I guess sitting is the best option. I sat 4 days and came up empty... even on LTLs. I had to dh to OK before I got a run, and that picked up 300 mi away in Memphis. My advice in going to Laredo: Try to set something up before you...

    Whats a C unit making

Rich... he's asking what a driver would make driving a c-unit, not what a c makes.

    Hours of Service Rumor

Crazynuff... It's easy to look from the outside and surmise what others should do, according to what seems logical. Wallah! That's how Washington got this stupid HOS rule. If you haven't run team, and don't plan on it, how can you assume the things you say? For most of us, 4 to 5 hours is all...

    Laredo

I just posted about layover in Laredo. I stayed in a hotel, as I have no a/c. But I later decided to move up to San Antonio, as it's surrounded by Dallas, Houston, and Laredo.

2 Questions: Streets and Trips and Wirless Interne

RE: 2 Questions: Streets and Trips and Wirless Int Any gps reciever should work with it. Check out the sapphire gps reciever. It's the size of a quarter, and doesn't stand out on the dash. It runs around $100 after shipping on ebay.

    Spec'ing the Expedite Truck

Speaking of T.O., some idiots are speculating on him going to Seattle. HAHAHA I don't think so! How would you like Howard Stern and Jerry Springer to design your truck? Would it be a T-300 with pasties on its grill?

    Truck probs in Muskogee

Wouldn't the truck run fine with dying batteries? After it's started, the alternator keeps it running. Or am I a dummy? Btw... they rigged up a couple of wires for me, in case it happens again. Which it did last night. Works like a charm. The more I think about it, the more it sounds like the...

    Satellite radio

Professor, do you watch Trading Spouses: Meet Your New Mommy on Fox? Just the commercials remind me of Jerry Springer. I shudder everytime I'm reminded Fox does NFL too. x(

    leather or cloth interior

Found some stuff on Corinthian leather. answers.com on the Chrysler Cordoba: ("Corinthian leather" was a meaningless term invented for the purpose, but the term has come to mean leather with a vinyl surface treatment that requires little care) cnn.com says Neil Diamond has a Corinthian leather...

    Good advice to fledgling newbies.

Took an exit for a truckstop in KY. But I confused the signs with the exit, and ended up on a Parkway. 30 miles later, there was finally an exit I could turn around at. That's probably the worst I've done, but one of my co-drivers took the wrong expressways in Canada on our way to Buffalo, TWICE...

    Truck probs in Muskogee

Stuck here in OK with a phantom problem. After I stop for awhile, then start it back up, I drive for a very short distance and it cuts out. After it sits for about a half hour it starts again. The first place I took it to was a small shop. All they did was change a fuse which didn't need...

    Single or dual rear axle

One thing that is said about duals is that they're enormously more comfortable. And although you would have a lower mpg with duals (I have 7+, but have been in one with an avg of 10.5), you have a greater chance at freight. That could be the difference between moving and waiting another day or...

    Satellite radio

Heya Professor... My wife got me Sirius because it carries NFL. But I've found some great stations that have kept me going in the wee hours. Awesome conservative station! To tell you the truth, I don't find the trucking stations all that interesting, as they can only go over something for so...

    Single or dual rear axle

I have duallies with a 28' box, and I'll never go back to single axel... dispite the lower mileage. Not only does it help in getting t/t loads (which I have 3 in my first month driving this truck), but it's alot simpler to manage freight. On a 10k load, I'm not scrambling to figure out where the...

    Driver wanted/available ads...

There are 51 ads since the beginning of the month for driver/teams wanted/available. Does that seem high to you? What do you think it means, if anything?

    Start Up

If you have no experience in expediting, and only plan to have someone else drive it, I would suggest you don't get into it. Very few inexperienced owners make it in the industry. It's hard to fathom what problems your drivers face when you haven't been behind the wheel yourself.

    Laying over in Florence?

I like that tower! I get on the radio and yell "FLORENCE, Y'ALL" everytime I pass by. Reminds you you're in Tenkucky. It's better than the giant peach in Gaffney, SC. It looks like a giant orange arse mooning everyone who passes thru. :7
