    Reefer Relocation Charge

So how does it feel for all of you high dollar reefer units (like myself) to be informed by your carrier that they will no longer be paying the truck reefer relocation? We got our phone call today giving us the good news! Instead you just get the regular deadhead rate as I understand it. For...

    My trucks have been busy.

With our carrier back haul loads have not been an option for us, can't afford to haul for the rates they pay. That's based on information from others that we know that have done them to get home, etc. Shouldn't there be enough expedited freight availible not to have to rely of the cheaper back...

    My trucks have been busy.

Are you talking T/T units or straight trucks when you say your trucks are busy? We stayed fairly busy when we owned our DR-Unit. When we purchased the T/T thats when we saw the change.

    Very Disappointing numbers

How does my making a public observation about one type of service thats offered to the customers appearing to be slow (at least for me) turn into the above quote? My "credentials" have nothing to do with the number of temp assured loads I get or don't get. So, I guess if you're a super team...

    Very Disappointing numbers

So I guess that if I had explosives and ammo along with radioactive credentials, plus had a shorter wheelbase tractor so I could go into Canada I would be getting more temp assured freight? When I hired on over four years ago it was not a requirement to have these credentials to be in White...

    Very Disappointing numbers

Since Jan 1st,2008 through today we have averaged 1.6 temp controlled loads per month in our ER-unit. Granted, we've not taken our trailer to be recertified for T-val. But, in talking with several of our T-val friends we're told thats also been slow. Sounds as if we've not missed much there. We...

    Taking your shower!

Yes, its only soapy water but, soapy water equals slippery surface which equals potentual lawsuit! Case in point, if somebody were to walk across the "soapy water" and fall and injure themself, would'nt they most likely sue you? Would'nt the property owner claim that you were illegally dumping...

    Taking your shower!

This thread is meant to simply ask those of us fortunate enough to have showers in our sleepers, when and where do you use your shower? Does your shower have a holding tank? Do you contain the wastewater until you can dump at an appropriate location (offsite), or do you just dump it where you...

How Does it Feel to Buy Fuel?

Here's a couple of questions to add to the pot: How long are you willing to accept loads (one after another) that only produce enough of an advance to pay for the fuel required to complete the run. Then what, you wait for a settlement for the rest of the run pay. Do you worry about acceptance...

    FEDEX CC Recruiting unresponsive!

When you are expected (at the customer's request) to "campout" 24/7 on a customer's load, "Camping Trucks" come in real handy! LOL

Hey Night, you been dreamin again? LOL

    Oops!

Looks to me like the big black cat is the only one involved in this accident. I see nothing identifying FedEx as being involved. Did I miss something in the news report?

    Sleeping on the floor

Yes Jefferson3000, I did ask a simular question in that thread three months ago regarding this subject. In this thread my intent is to poll especially fleet owners to see what their requirements on this subject are. In the recent weeks I'm hearing more and more from fleet driver friends of how...

    Sleeping on the floor

I'm curious about this, so I'm gonna ask! How many owners (team) out there would (or do) give up the bed in their sleeper to accomadate a customer's ride along courier? How many fleet owners ask their drivers to "give up the bed" for the courier? Would you as a fleet driver drive for an owner...

Most Bang for your buck in a Tractor Trailer

Definately the Kenworth! The T-600 was produced up through 2007 and then replaced by the T-660 which is a nice tractor. We drove Century Class and Columbia Freightliners for years. For the extra cost of the Kenworth, I feel the quality is well worth the added expense!

    Injury Liability

You are dispatched to assist another truck load or unload their freight. In the course of assisting you are injured inside of their box. Say that you are not at fault for your injury or only have a partial responsibility for your injury. The injury causes you to loose time from being able to...

    The Longest Layover

We've been laid over at the Petro in Oak Grove,MO so long the Finches have built a nest in our reefer.LOL Been watching them carrying stuff in for the past five days. Starting the unit and running it for a while did'nt even chase them out. Today I finally got the ladder out so that I could...

    Craziest Load Offer Yet!

As Steve said, here's the rest of the story: The load came back about 30 minutes later with the corrected gross pay amount. The origanal amount was the FSC that had been put in the total pay amount. For the less than $200 the load paid to help another team load their trailer, we are left...

    Craziest Load Offer Yet!

We receive a load offer today that left us both laughing! The run was a total of 38 miles paying a gross of $17.40. Yes, you heard me right! It was a B rate load being offered to an ER-unit. I'm sure it was just a typo, if not I really feel for the van rates! LOL
