    FedEx or Panther

Steve, where is the discouragement towards FedEx if any in my post? I was only interested in what type equipment and what credentials the original poster would be throwing into the pot. As we all know that can greatly effect ones revenue potentual depending on the carriers needs and customer...

    Expediters or not?

Ok Cheri and Steve, I wasn't ****ed at anyone or any comments made in this thread. In fact I got a chuckle out of the king, queen, and dutchess bit! Just thought I had missed something funny in what I said. The entent of my original thread was not asking for an open debate, but rather to...

    Expediters or not?

Cheri1122 Silly, as in some of the other threads posted on this website. Yet people do find them worthy of a legitimate response. Glad I was able to amuse you! I must have missed something in my thread as I did not see it as "amusing", so enlighten me, please.

    FedEx or Panther

You did not specify what type unit you plan to drive. Are you planning to go into a C, CR, D, DR, E, or ER unit? You may find some differences as we did when we switched from a DR-unit to a tractor trailer. Credentials and choice of equipment will impact the amount of revenue you can earn...

    Expediters or not?

To clarify, I did not say that these drivers were FDCC, nor will I mention the name of their carrier as I'm sure the carrier sees things differently than they do. I will say that they most likely are new to the expedite industry and have yet to learn that expediting covers a much broader...

    Expediters or not?

Recently I had the pleasure of having the drivers of a "D" sized unit tell me that since I am no longer leased to FDCC I'm no longer considered an "Expediter". Futhermore, I was told that if my carrier was not listed on EO's website then they are not in the expedite business. I won't mention...

    TA improves another travel center

Now you really know theres a parking problem at the ol truckstop when a Stoops Special FDCC DR-unit has been riding around the lot for the past ten or fifteen minutes and appearantly can't find a parking space!LOL

    TA improves another travel center

We left a perfectly good parking space at Donna's T/P in Marysville,WA Sunday morning to relocate to the TA in North Bend,WA. We needed to do laundry and since Donna's had none we knew we could count on TA, afterall we've done laundry there back when it was the Seattle East T/P and even after TA...

    11 "Load Oportunity"

Glad I left the Fed when I did! Much better at the new carrier in my opinion.

    This Could Mean Trouble

You are correct Phil in that it will affect everyone including us with our current carrier. I'm not sure how much our carrier will hold an owner to being able to service the Ca customers such as LAX. In fact, we are in Ontario,Ca now waiting to pick up at LAX. Time will tell if this does go into...

    This Could Mean Trouble

I have to wonder how FDCC is going to deal with owners that can no longer go into California once their 2006 model year truck (or older) no longer complies with the Ca emissions rules? Could it be that their 10 year rule for class 8 trucks will be exactly that? Will they tell the owner "replace...

    Still hauling FedEx Freight

We may have recently left FDCC to go into a new area of expedited freight but that does'nt mean we don't still get to haull freight for FedEx. Today we delivered a very large jet engine to Memphis,Tn from Chicago. It belongs to a FedEx Freight jet and is to be installed at the Memphis...

    First Run w/ new carrier!

Did not realize that the avatar can't be enlarged if clicked on. We customized our logos on our truck since our carrier allows this. The trucks in the fleet come up with thier own ideas and some are pretty neat. We we able to match our truck colors to!

    First Run w/ new carrier!

That was our first tarp job in more than 25 years! Depending on how much climbing I feel like doing we either tape the excess strap as shown in the photo or we will place the strap as Ark suggested. Oh, did I mention that I have a fear of heights? LOL The roll of tape was a freebie to!

Ways you are cutting back to save $$$

We got rid of our custom reefer trailer and the high monthly payment and cost to maintain it and bought a less expensive stepdeck trailer with a lower monthly payment and less maint.

    First Run w/ new carrier!

This was our first load with our new carrier. As you can see we traded the reefer box for a custom built stepdeck. The change in carriers has been enjoyable for us. Although we still do expedited freight we will be hauling a different type of freight than before.

What I really think of FDCC

I know I've thrown some negative ingredients into the pot lately, but here is how I really feel about FDCC. In the just shy of five years I have been with the Fed they were good to us for the most part. Afterall, I was able to get out of hauling grocery warehouse products and tractor parts in...

    Reefer Relocation Charge

Our Contractor Coordinator contacted us by phone Tuesday morning (5/27/08) to inform us that effective 6/1/08 FDCC will no longer be paying reefer relocation. She also indicated that the CCs were calling ALL reefer units to inform them of this change. So, this is not rumor, it is fact. Your call...

    Reefer Relocation Charge

Ever since we've been with them they did, but they won't be anymore! Can we say "lets be more competetive" and give the customer a break. Surely the contractor's going to benefit from this change and see more money, right!
