    Hotshots vs. Expediting

I think Hotshots started out as Pickups and small vans and then the term Expediting was created when larger vehicles were required to do the jobs. I really think it's the same thing.

All companies pretty much the same

I have heard a few complaints from drivers and friends of theirs that were owner opperators going out of business. This one particular guy would not drive for me because I was contracted with Panther. He said Panther screwed his friends and caused them to go out of business. I asked him why he...

    Tractor reaches 1 Million Miles

I have a C-10 D unit refer and I am trading in my FL-70 for another one. I trust my Cummins ISX more. I think it will last longer. Each one is in a D unit and the engines are not working very hard since it's expedite.

    Five Fantastic Years!

Ha ha, that took hours to complile. Thanks for the great effort. I was more refering to the industry as in loaded miles for teams. I understand that they boosted pay and fuel supplements to match the cost of doing business. I was more refering to loaded miles. For example three years ago you...

    60/40 split?

Yes I was confused I thought the owner still got 60% and the team got 40% and paid for fuel and got the fuel surcharge.

    found money

Yeah my driver just found money. He has a run going to NYC. It's only 163 miles and pays $900 dollars. It requires pallet jack and lift gate service. Not to bad because it's at a convention center and has it's own loading parking lot. It is on 43rd street in New York so it's in Manhatten.

Not sure I have had the refer less then a week. They do have a non refer load going to Larado TX from CLeveland paying full rate at $1.55. Get this my dry van with lift gate and pallet jack got a $900 dollar flat rate run to go from Washington DC to New York city. It's only 163 miles of driving.

    Panther Owner Web.

Right but they drop the rate if the refer brakes down. You go back to $1.30 if your on a A contract or $1.20 if your on a B contract. Panther pays $1.25 for a dry van with lift gate on B contract. I am not sure if they pay $1.35 for lift gate on A contract or flat rate of $1.30.

    Panther Owner Web.

A contract you pay for permits and higher liabilies. 20-24ft straight trucks get $1.30 a mile. B contract Panther pays permits and lower premiums on bobtail. 20-24ft straight trucks get $1.20 a mile. Refers 20-24ft get the same $1.55 on both contracts. I am trading in my FL-70 and...

    60/40 split?

Either way I don't understand how drivers could make money off paying for fuel unless they are not on a flat rate and they only except high fuel surcharge loads. Fuel surcharges are not designed to pay for all the fuel. Now if I was opperating as a solo owner I would not be in the Panther fuel...

Yeah the old contracted truck is still on the board because he was on pro and they could not change it to the new rate. I called Panther and the safety department told me they were have tech issues.

24 hours of tech problems with the owner website. It's driving me nuts because my new trucks are not showing.

    60/40 split?

Yes if you are not on a flat rate fuel surcharge program. I decided to put my fleet on the flat rate so we could accept more loads. We were getting .70 fuel surcharge offers on short runs and .15 a mile on some of the longer runs. Now all the runs are at .38 cents a mile on the flat rate...
