    Tri State Expediting

At Panther I am sure they know our numbers. I can go to our account and see all the percentages, statements, QC location ect. I am sure they can go to that screen just as easy as I do. She doesn't work for Panther.

Looking for Input on carriers Landstar, Con Way, P

RE: Looking for Input on carriers Landstar, Con Wa Out of who you listed above, my personal preference would be Panther Primary reasons are large operating area, milage rate, fuel surcharge, deadhead pay, consistant milage, accurate settlements, and minimal game playing.;) No experience with...

    mapping software???

we have been using the delorme 2003. Bought the 2004 and didn't like it. Too much junk on it that you don't need. Sometimes simple can be better. It does have Canada but we like MapnGo for that. Not very detailed but we don't travel Canada that often

    Cab Overs

Argosy seems like the only choice if doing a new one. They are suppose to be smoother riding than the old cabovers. I would wonder by how much. Could certainly get a bigger box on, but it would cost you in ride comfort and maintanence would be a bigger challenge. We use to have a KW cabover...

    Truck Spec opinions

If you are running a single axle, 33,000 GVW is all you can legally haul. You would need the extra axle to go higher. There are some recent posts (three axle rig) that cover alot of these issues. I don't personally see a need for them, but many would disagree. Depends on your carrier and what...

Looking for Input on carriers Landstar, Con Way, P

RE: Looking for Input on carriers Landstar, Con Wa If you are in OH, I would visit some of your local truckstops and talk to some of the drivers. In addition, there are numerous posts on here that you can read.

    Feedback on Business Plan

Being in the Northwest will have some complications .....maybe. If a driver is involved in a accident or quits and abandons your truck, one must be prepared for this. I am not sure where you are going to plate the truck, however $3,000 seems alittle high. Although in CA that may be low. To base...

    2000 Freightliner FL70

somewhere between 25,000 and 30,000 Just a rough estimate because the truck he is referring to is lacking alot of information that would determine a price. Some of the obvious would be, general condition, what has recently been replaced, condition of tires, is there a generator, reefer, aluminum...

    2000 Freightliner FL70

Good point Lawrence. Make sure it meets your companies age requirements, and make sure the box is the right size. Some companies are very strict on this. On a side note, when refering to box size, I was not only counting the length, but the hieght, width, and back door dimensions. I as well was...

    2000 Freightliner FL70

If the cummins is a electronic one, it would be a good engine, and cheap to rebuild if needed. If it is the non- electric, be prepared for some problems. The cummins we had was the latter, and it was plagued with all kinds of problems. I have been running several Cats and have had good luck with...

    king pins

According to Kenworth, the king pins will be as vunerable whether it is a 10,000lb axle or a 12,000. I was lucky because these lasted to 300,000. The freightliner needed them done at 175,000. Price to repair and or rebuild front axle and springs is 1600. That included the brass bushings You are...

    What do you think?

You are correct that the recruiter section started as a basic Q & A forum. But it has evolved over time with one knowing what companies are represented by whom. With that being said; I think your follow up post gives a much more detailed description of what your company is about. I commend you...

    CON WAY NOW IN TEXAS

I have seen there trucks on occassion in Laredo and Dallas. I am sure they would go to Houston or El Paso but I have never seen them in either area. I don't really know anything about them past that.

ANY INFO ON JET EXPRESS OR DYNAMEX

Jet Express used to run ads often in Houston. At that time they had company trucks and paid $10.00 dollars an hour. Dynamex was owner operators. They mostly run local in Dallas. Not sure as to what they pay.

WANTING TO RUN REGIONALLY IN SOUTH,(TEXAS)

If you are doing strictly vans, Venture, Eagle, and Dynamex You will see alot of flatbed pickups down there as well. I don't have phone numbers but most either have terminals in Houston or Dallas. General information should have phone numbers Some are; Acme Freight Cannonball freight Venture...

    cellular internet access for laptop

If using wi-fi, use a separate USB antenna. The atntenna that goes into the side of your computer is almost a waste. Works in the building, but not that well in the parking areas. We have tried a couple of antennas and the best one seems to be Proxim.

    king pins

After noticing a vibration out of my front end, I had the truck put on a chassis machine. What they found was my king pins were wearing out, after 320,000 miles (Probably from too many trips to Detroit):7 Anyway, what I found out was that most trucks when coming from the factory new, use...
