    Refreshing change of subject.

Thanks, Broom, for reminding us that sometimes you get an opportunity to make a difference that counts. :) PS for maximum giggles, follow the 'are you married?" query with "Well, do you at least have a job?" :)

To Fry or not to Fry

In return for all the great tips above, I'll just add this advice: don't do your deep fat frying in the nude! That's from another great song sent to me by Moot.:)

    Laptop E-Mail

My son in law, the computer nerd-genius, installed Firefox on my desktop, because he says it's waaay superior. He didn't, unfortunately, have time to show me how it works, so I don't use it right now. But, hey - 'it's on my list'! :7 PS After almost 18 months with my laptop, I only discovered...

    Get off your donkey

If Charlotte is correct, then the answer is to join OOIDA if you haven't yet, and encourage others to join if you have. I display my OOIDA stickers on my vehicle, and on the backpack I carry around - if I had more, I'd put them more places. Leo is right, the best way to make OOIDA more...

TRUCK DRIVERS WANTED FOR A NEW TELEVISION SHOW ON

RE: TRUCK DRIVERS WANTED FOR A NEW TELEVISION SHOW Maybe we've all jumped to the conclusion that the casting people are looking to turn sow's ears into silk (Or at least linen) purses, for the amusement of a national television audience - if so, I aplogize to Ms Jessica for my response. If not...

    Wonderful Snack

I don't have a Sam's membership, so I'll have to ask my Mom to look for some - thanks for the heads up. I have always kept chopped dates around, for adding to cheerios, (To balance the tart cranberries), & oatmeal, & yogurt. Dates are a yummy way to satisfy a sweet tooth.:)

    Drunk Biker

That's too funny! I got the same joke from my sister awhile back, only it featured a blonde instead of a biker. Since your brother is a biker, & my sister is a blonde, it proves we can laugh at ourselves - but as the thread on the tv show proves, we don't accept outsiders laughing at us. I guess...

Oh Dear!...ur, uh, I mean Oh Deer!

Ouch! Sorry to hear it, but thanks for the reminder - you're right, they are everywhere. I've not hit one, [yet], but I know how they can magically appear in the middle of the empty road. Is it something that insurance will cover?

TRUCK DRIVERS WANTED FOR A NEW TELEVISION SHOW ON

RE: TRUCK DRIVERS WANTED FOR A NEW TELEVISION SHOW Here's your chance to be on tv! As a modern day 'Beverly Hillbilly'...Me, I'll pass - no black tie events in my immediate future anyway. Guess I'll just have to risk falling in the 'cement pond' if one appears...

    A BIG THANK YOU!

Ken, you will find on the Layover Lounge Forum, a long list of fellow expediters who have made it easy to recognize them if you are ever parked nearby. But the absolute best way to meet the drivers you will get to know here, is to attend an EO event, and have fun while you pick up those "trade...

    A BIG THANK YOU!

Jax: welcome! If Linder is correct, & I believe she is, in saying "expediters are the cream of the crop", then you're already learning that RichM & DaveKC are the creme de la creme, for real! Of course, we're not perfect here, we sometimes have sour cream posters, and whipped cream posters, too...

    Emergency Hometime....

It sounds as if you need to be looking for some greener grass...And with the next owner, try to be clear about expectations, preferably having them in writing, and good luck.

    Runnin in a Sprinter

Just remember, Bryan: what goes around, comes around, lol - you could wind up [no pun intended] with all the leaves in 5 square miles, when the wind changes direction! :P

Broom made a response about what your time is wort

RE: Broom made a response about what your time is Thanks to all who pointed out that being a success is however one defines it, and sometimes, a failure or two along the way, only strengthens one's determination. We don't have to be the best at everything, every time, to be a success. And also...

    Load Boards

I think what Dave's referring to are the noncarrier affiliated drivers who get onsite using a carrier account - if they cause brokers to call the carrier to book the truck, that wastes everyone's time. Which reminds me: is the site mentioned above a Landtar account?

    Giggles

With thanks to KiniLiu, who sent them to me, here are a few of my favorite giggles: My grandson & I entered the vacation cabin with the lights off, to keep from attracting pesky insects inside. Still, a few fireflies came in with us. Noticing them before I did, he said "It's no use, Grandpa...

    CDL violation?

What kind of owner would hire someone to drive without checking their qualifications? We've all heard of cases of amnesia regarding the driver's history, or at least selective memory. Would the owners insurance cover a driver who turned out to be unqualified? That owner sounds like trouble, to...

    Van (A-B unit) questions

Greg, I have no problem scaling, I do it all the time, what I have a problem with is the lack of clear regulations. We are held responsible for knowing the law, and for violating it, but that's impossible if we cannot determine what exactly the law is - and if LEO's can't figure it out, how am...

Union - Could it work, is it needed?

    >An organization designed to impede progress overall while >lining the pockets of a few corrupt union officials with my >money... where do I sign up? Leo: If you replace "a few corrupt union officials" with "a lot of corrupt, ineffective pals" you could be describing our political...
