There are two types of people here: those who can thank Dora the Explorer for understanding 'uno, dos, tres, quattro', and those who can thank Wooly Bully...:+ ;) :P

    Almost ready to head out

There is quite a bit in the post from John to "the Colonel" that I cannot attest to, but: I spoke to John at the Expo last July, and several times afterwards, and can attest that nothing he has posted varies in the slightest from what he said at the time. I believe John O is a man of integrity...

    New Ohio Ban on Smoking

And we all know what a huge hazard alcohol is, so they could ban that, - oh wait, they tried that already, didn't they? And I still have to hope the drivers sharing the road with me are sober...

    Independent or Company...

Welcome to EO! I'd agree, that driving your buddy's van will give you a clearer idea of what you can reasonably expect, especially as far as average miles go. I'd also totally agree on getting everything in writing, because misunderstandings can get REAL expensive. Good luck!

    E.O. Member For 1 Year

If they ever decide to put together a "Best of EO" compilation, several of your posts would be in it - "blinker fluid" and "celery & creativity" for starters. But you're more than just a funny guy, you're also a helpful guy, and we like that, round these parts.:)

Merry Xmas and Happy New Year to the Boss and all

RE: Merry Xmas where did that come from? That's right - we hate to see anyone get unravelled!;) Sorry, couldn't resist:+

I saw a neat sign this weekend,in Ohio

As does the addition of tiny legs & feet to the Christian fish symbol, to denote the scientific evidence for evolution - but why is this subject on this forum?

Merry Xmas and Happy New Year to the Boss and all

RE: Merry Xmas where did that come from? I mean the cross that is a universally recognized symbol for Christ.

    Whose country is this anyway?

If this is 'racial profiling', we'd benefit from a whole lot more of it! My question is why the people who permit illegals to be hired are not prosecuted for breaking the law...

    Have you seen this expediter?

That is absolutely, without a doubt, the best looking Panther driver I've ever seen! :) :P :) And since the back of your van looks undamaged, he's maybe a better driver than some, too! For sure, he complains less, especially about where you're stopping for dinner :)

Xmas, where do people get this from?

How sad- someone wishes you a pleasant experience, and you get "irked" over the commonly used (in writing - I've never heard anyone say it out loud) shorter form of the expression.

Merry Xmas and Happy New Year to the Boss and all

RE: Merry Xmas where did that come from? Hobo, 'Merry XMas' is a commonly used form of Christmas, the X standing in for the cross - can't you appreciate the sentiment, instead of quibbling over the wording?

    Which Company should I choose

KLE: first, welcome to EO! We are here to help, but the first problem I can see is that you'd like to be home weekends - this is NOT a Mon-Fri job. Most drivers stay out for weeks at a time, because that's what it takes to succeed. Being home every weekend would most likely require such a high...

    Front License Plate?

Good grief - doesn't the Ohio Highway Patrol ever learn? They pulled me over 20 years ago, for the same thing! Except that it was my personal vehicle, plated in Fla, which uses one plate, on the rear. It boggles the mind, that drivers are expected to know the laws of every state we pass through...

    Sudden Change in Life

The phrase that best says it for me is: "Happiness isn't having what you want, it's wanting what you have". Flipping the perspective to the opposite can make for a sudden change in your outlook!:)

SPLIT AND A TERRIBLE OWNER-OPERATOR AGREEMENT

Chuck, 'trial & error' is sometimes a horribly expensive way to learn, so the experienced drivers here try to help the rest of us avoid the pitfalls - someone has to be able to take over the wheel when they've had enough! ;) It can be tough to admit you don't know much about something...
