Welcome to EO! I'd agree, that driving your buddy's van will give you a clearer idea of what you can reasonably expect, especially as far as average miles go. I'd also totally agree on getting everything in writing, because misunderstandings can get REAL expensive. Good luck!

If they ever decide to put together a "Best of EO" compilation, several of your posts would be in it - "blinker fluid" and "celery & creativity" for starters. But you're more than just a funny guy, you're also a helpful guy, and we like that, round these parts.:)

That is absolutely, without a doubt, the best looking Panther driver I've ever seen! :) :P :) And since the back of your van looks undamaged, he's maybe a better driver than some, too! For sure, he complains less, especially about where you're stopping for dinner :)

How sad- someone wishes you a pleasant experience, and you get "irked" over the commonly used (in writing - I've never heard anyone say it out loud) shorter form of the expression.

RE: Merry Xmas where did that come from? Hobo, 'Merry XMas' is a commonly used form of Christmas, the X standing in for the cross - can't you appreciate the sentiment, instead of quibbling over the wording?

Good grief - doesn't the Ohio Highway Patrol ever learn? They pulled me over 20 years ago, for the same thing! Except that it was my personal vehicle, plated in Fla, which uses one plate, on the rear. It boggles the mind, that drivers are expected to know the laws of every state we pass through...

The phrase that best says it for me is: "Happiness isn't having what you want, it's wanting what you have". Flipping the perspective to the opposite can make for a sudden change in your outlook!:)

Chuck, 'trial & error' is sometimes a horribly expensive way to learn, so the experienced drivers here try to help the rest of us avoid the pitfalls - someone has to be able to take over the wheel when they've had enough! ;) It can be tough to admit you don't know much about something...
