    First time posting fears!

What it felt like to me, the first time I posted, was like being the new kid in school - what if everyone makes fun of me? But I'd lurked enough to see that that wasn't likely - unless I said one of those incredibly stupid things that I've been known to blurt out on occasion, lol. What...

    How well are we protected?

I still don't understand the problem people have with racial profiling - most LEOs develop a pretty good sense of who is "wrong" for the place, time, or reason stated - why can't we use that? In the airport in Oklahoma City, I was selected for a closer examination than most passengers, ie: a...

    looking for a break!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like you found your 'break' - assuming the owner is an honest one, which I think most are. If you remember the debt you owe that owner, and don't make him/her regret giving you the chance, you're "on your way" - good luck to you.

Saddam Hussein is dead by hanging

What punishment would seem more appropriate than death to me is: life in prison, no release, and no priveleges, such as tv, books, classes, whatever, unless the prisoner volunteered to work, and 100% of his earnings went to the victims of his crime. Except only what was needed for his room &...

    Years in the Trucking Business

We are all free to post whatever opinions or comments we like here, assuming we can do so within the rules, and we are all free to take whatever advice we choose from here. For myself, I'll take the advice of the old pros, who have been quietly, and generously, donating their time to helping...

    GIVE UP

Chuck: IMO, what started this mess was your attitude. From jump street, you refused to take the advice offered here about researching the owner, talking to his other or former drivers, and most importantly: getting an experienced transportation attorney to review the contract offered before...

    Pilot is Towing Trucks

Another thing to keep in mind: not every tow truck is owned by a legitimate company...I've heard of vehicles being hooked & hauled by thieves who use tow trucks, cause people don't question their right to take the vehicle. :o

    Pilot is Towing Trucks

Bruno: sorry about the wrong interstate, I saw exits 209 & 210 mentioned, thought it was on 71. Did you talk to the mgr at the Pilot, who told the driver it was ok to park, but then didn't put the truck on the list? You may get nothing but the runaround, but if he was at fault, he might admit...

    Pilot is Towing Trucks

Also at home, in service. BTW, the interstate Bruno refers to is 71, not 75, and the exit is either 204 or 209, there's a Pilot at both. I agree that more details are called for on the original post, too - just doesn't sound kosher.

VICTIMS OF OUR OWN SUCCESS ??

I understood ATeam's post the same way RichM did - $12k missed in a week - because a week is what we usually take off about this time of year, and a longer timeframe wasn't specified. Therefore, I don't see it as a "potshot" at all.

US State Department Succumbs to Homosexual Pressur

RE: US State Department Succumbs toI Homosexual P C'mon, Star, you've been around long enough to know that sexual attraction originates in one's brain, aided by hormones, and the brain is the least understood of human organs. Science is discovering some differences there, and I'm sure that...

is there a god and who was jesus

It is a simple question to which there is, so far, no definitive answer. Therefore, any debate on religion will, by definition, be open ended, except to agree to disagree. The site you cite explains atheism far better than I can - thanks for including it.

    a test

Just to clarify, the Loading Dock is the place for posts about faith. I realize that it can be a tough subject to discuss, but as long as you can be civil, and respect the fact that not everyone will agree, posts on any subject that can be discussed in the presence of children are welcome.

YOU HAVE TO QUIT EXPEDITING - WHAT WILL YOU DO ??

RE: YOU HAVE TO QUIT EXPEDITING - WHAT WILL YOU DO I would move in with my eldest daughter in SW Pa, managing her house & 2 little girls, while she attends nursing school, & her husband works on the computer. I'd probably tend bar, or sling hash, in my free time, while I figure out the next...

    First post of 2007!

Leo, black eyed peas? I know you wouldn't like their music, so you must mean the food - but in this neck of the woods, it's pork & sauerkraut, for good luck on New Year's Day. Anyone have any other yummy (gag) food traditions today?

    New Years Resolutions

I'd like to get control of the mess on my desk - anyone know of a good birth control method for mail & post-it notes? Cause I swear they're multiplying themselves! :+

    NEW TO BIZ

What Greg said. And, talk to as many drivers as you can, even if you feel odd going to a truck stop to do it. (Hint: don't approach any vehicle with privacy curtains up) Read everything you can on this site, especially the "Newbie" and "Ask the Recruiter" fora, until you feel your eyeballs...
