    Auditor:Billions wasted in Iraq

Not to worry, Tallcall - I think even the most opinionated of us knows that we are first and foremost, a brotherhood, so to speak, of drivers. We don't need no stinkin union, we have EO! If anyone forgets, we can sicc Hooligan on them - that'll keep the hotheads in line!:P

No, but sometimes watching football makes me think of that!:P

    hey

    > >Everyone is not a Steinbeck or Shakespeare and this is just >a forum, not a MESA meeting. Ok, we all do typos and the occasional misspelled word, as I'm sure Greg meant Mensa, but I don't think it's asking too much for posters to do a quick read before posting, to catch the obvious things...

    Please Help

We can currently get across with a certified copy of birth certificate. The law requiring a passport is scheduled to take effect next January 1, I believe, but is subject to change before then. As for the question of whether it's worth it, I like Canada. It's the US Customs I could do without...

A nice word about Panther (For a Change)

I know - been there, done that. And think of it everytime I hear someone say "people just don't want to work anymore"

A nice word about Panther (For a Change)

Since it seems to be a human quirk to complain a lot more than compliment, sometimes it's nice to hear that anything is working out for anyone around here, lol.;)

    File extensions

I checked, and most cellphone photos have the jpg extension, but a few have bin - this is what I don't understand. How do they format differently, if I treat them all the same?

    File extensions

Turtle, I send the photos from my cellphone to my email, and from there I attach them to emails - I can't remember what the extension is, I'll have to do one & check. The reason I'm puzzled is that the bin extension occurs sometimes, but not always, and I don't do anything differently from one...

    Dispatchers Brain Size?

I respect anyone who does their job right, and corrects it to the best of their ability when they don't. Just as I do. So far, I haven't ever had a dispatcher give me any kind of trouble, because I treat them with the same courtesy I expect. It works for me, anyway.

Um, lets see - use his own brain, if he has one, that is? :P :P :P

    Mexican Trucks

I'm suspicious of any program or agreement that any politician wants to keep on the downlow - that's not how our government is supposed to work at all.

    no cheap freight

I am not free to approach my carrier with the suggested message, I signed a contract agreeing to terms of compensation. The question of why this compensation remains stagnant for so long goes to simple fairness, and business ethics. Have these principles been cast aside, in pursuit of the bottom...

    Illegal U-turn or vehicular homicide??

Yep, the t/t driver should not have made the uturn where he did - but as was pointed out, you have no idea how nervewracking it can be to drive a t/t into unknown territory, if you've never had to do it - there are so many ways to get stuck with a vehicle that size. I can empathize with the...

    no cheap freight

The question nobody's asking: are the carriers that are keeping the CPM and accessorial compensation at the same level applying the same "no increase" standards to other personnel as well, ie: dispatchers, office support, management? If everyone else gets a cost of living increase, why don't...

    down sizing again

The resentment you sense is not directed at drivers like yourself, but at those who know nothing of trucking in general, or expedited freight in particular, and are attracted by the idea of being "paid tourists". You know, the ones who think anyone can do this, just buy a van, it's that easy...

    Dispatchers Brain Size?

    >Dispatch fault 1000 percent you can't be checking every >little thing and if you do they get angry at you for >doubting them. If you "can't be checking every little thing" when it's clear that you need to, you're ALWAYS going to have trouble. If a dispatcher gets angry at you for verifying...

    Thinking about fiding a driver

You don't say whether you have experience driving t/t or not, and I think that's an important factor in your decision. If you are starting as a new driver in a big truck, it's a whole different world - how much 'new' stuff can you handle all at once? Trying to wear too many hats when it's all...

The Three stooges on the dock

Greg, that was a great little story about 'a day in the life' - thanks. Hope it gets read by the dispatchers who like to keep sending beeps on the QC asking "Are you getting loaded yet?" ;)
