    Panther drivers

Remus, you've been a member here for three years, but can't have been reading much, or you'd know that the questions you ask have been debated a lot. Does the phrase 'Panther bashing' ring a bell? IMO, the definitive answer was given by the VIP at Panther, in an interview that was published...

    Turtle: ROFLMAO :P :P :P

    Tis the season

Reverend, I'll do that. Even though I'm an atheist- because if you believe it will help, it won't hurt me, or cost anything, so why not? And you can throw one up for me too, if you would- because even though I don't believe it will help, it couldn't hurt, eh? ;) And if I should get a 2500...

    post disappered

I can't see why The Fed wouldn't want drivers to know about the program - like carrying concealed, the possibility serves as a deterrent (to driving while stupid, at least). As I said in the reply that's gone off to cyber neverneverland, it's best to behave (except in the privacy of your home...

    Retirement Benefits for Expediters

This is as much a political issue as financial, having to do with the fiscal irresponsibility of the government, and as such should probably have been posted on the Soapbox. That said, I have to wonder how we've become such a nation of sheep, that when the government says "We took your money...

The caliber of our forces and equipment.

Agree 100%. Our "representatives" aren't representing any of us well, and haven't, for a long time. It's the major reason for voter apathy: it doesn't seem to make much difference who one votes for, the end result is the same: the military, middle class, and working class are neglected, while...

    Now, for something completely different...

There is a website, copykats.com, that has recipes for lots of stuff, most of them famous - maybe you could find it there. I don't think it would be too hard to make your own, if you knew what to put in it, lol, and you could even 'adapt' it to your own taste(buds). Bon appetit!;)

    Diabetes

That is some excellent information - thanks for putting it out there. I would equate the process of obtaining a waiver to that of going to school for a year - yes, it's a year of aggravation, in many respects, but it's well worth it. And besides, what else are you going to do with that year...

    Hello everyone

Hello yourself, and wekcome! If you've been 'lurking', or reading posts here, you have an advantage, in that you know something about us, so how about telling us something you'd like us to know about you?

Great pics, Anna - thanks! (I think I used to live next door to that last couple, lol);)

Can we switch between team and solo?

I don't see any reason why you couldn't do it, unless you're leased with a carrier that only runs teams. I've run solo for a bit, while my codriver was home, when I ran team - just had to let the carrier know that I was solo, is all. Ask your carrier, see what they say.

    Poor recruiter interest

Piper, I can't tell you what recruiters want, but it seems the ones you spoke with clearly don't want a person who's intelligent, and prepared, so I'd cross them off the list. Don't give up, though, because there may be some recruiters who DO want what you're offering. If you've focused on...

Should a teacher be allowed to carry a gun?

Being forced to kill can (and often does) cause PTSD, which is why police officers are required to be debriefed, and talk with a psyche professional before returning to a non desk job. Some don't ever want to return, the trauma is so great. But, the other side of the coin is this: survivors...

    WHY DO EXPEDITORS LIE !!!!!!!!!!

I wasn't any better at it either :+ but I didn't hold anyone else up, at least. One of my very first deliveries, backing into the dock required blocking the street, which, at 0645, was busy, with people getting to work. Knowing I couldn't just whip it into the dock, (between the building and a...

    A missing puppy

There is a frantic truck driver, whose 8 month old Pappillon pup got away from him last night, at the truckstop on I 70, exit 59, near Springfield, Ohio. It answers to 'China', and the driver can't stay to look any longer, so if anyone has any info, (or even better, the little nipper itself)...

    Cell phone sales calls

I don't know much about collecting for illegal calls, imagine it'd be tough to prosecute, seeing how the origin could be in Taiwan, or somewhere. I do know, however, that solicitation calls are permitted if the caller is soliciting for a charitable organization, also anyone with whom you have...

    First Time for Everything

I have a negative blood type, too, which causes RH problems for unborn babies. But still, I started donating plasma for the money, many years ago, and have continued, switching to whole blood when the money wasn't needed. (If the truck doesn't get out of the shop pretty soon, I might have to go...

    Gift suggestion

I just like to get the younger folks into a bookstore, even if they have to be bribed, hoping they'll find some treasure there. DaveandBecky, I have used the color comics as gift wrap, and aluminum foil, too. Also tablecloths (plastic), and shower curtains, for really big boxes, (from the...

    First Time for Everything

There's an idea: if the Red Cross could be onsite at next year's Expediters Expo, we could donate blood, and then start the important process of replacing it, at the bar - I like it! ;)
