The caliber of our forces and equipment.

The following story gives a picture of the quality of both our forces and our equipment. The "majority" in Washington are not fit to lick the boots of our service people and are not deserving of the privilege of being a part of this great nation. They should all be required to read this and the countless other like stories that could be told and then write a hand written apology to our troops. Many of them are not even worth the price of a bullet or worthy of spit.

Agree 100%. Our "representatives" aren't representing any of us well, and haven't, for a long time.
It's the major reason for voter apathy: it doesn't seem to make much difference who one votes for, the end result is the same: the military, middle class, and working class are neglected, while those with deep pockets are catered to, because it takes so much money to get 'elected'.
The only solution I can see, is campaign limits, and matching contributions raised on the local level, which forces candidates to demonstrate local support, which forces them to pay attention to the actual voters, instead of the big money interests.
Term limits are another idea, but that just puts the well connected into the public-to- private revolving door sooner, mostly.

So Leo, it is a good story.

I have written about the Typhoon "Louise" of October of 1945 about the commander of a destroyer who rescues the crew of a another ship and how they survived for days that this storm lingered.

The hard ships that they went through in those days were amazing but to the crux of your point, we really have to do something about educating the people who vote first. It is something that I am amazed about that no one really gets it.
